Atletico ffs!

Looks like Barca might win the league after all... providing they beat Atletico in the final game of the season.

Both teams now likely to end on 91 points - if Barca can beat Atletico - and that means Barca would win the league on the basis of a better head-to-head record, as the first game in Madrid was 0-0.

How have they blown this!

EDIT: Didn't notice Real's two game in hand. What an end to the season it is going to be. Real win their games and they are champions, unless Atletico win their final two games because their head-to-head record v Madrid is also superior.

It'll be down to if Madrid lose three points and then how Barcelona feel they can do regarding GD with Madrid (as they cant be divided on head to head). If they are in touch on points and GD they'll give it all against Atletico, if not I can see them surrendering the points to shut Madrid out.

It's still looking very decent for Atletico as long as they beat Malaga next up.

Does the norwich boss not realise they needed to win today, think he went for draw expecting them to have chance v arsenal next week which could still happen, but norwich now need west brom to win at sunderland to have any at all

sunderland win/draw=norwich down

Of the three teams who can still win the league, you can't really say any of them have been outstanding.

Man City - weak willed
Chelsea - can't score
Liverpool - can't defend

I just hope Man City, being at home, can see the last two games out, they've been dodgy away from home. To be fair they have had injury problems as well, but all that money spent shouldn't really effect them as much as others.

They look very relaxed/languid at times City. I think it comes from the manager and it's a conscious style he's bringing to them. The only intensity I've seen from them was at the final whistle yesterday.

Barça beat R. Madrid in both games so win the head to head v Madrid. as it stands..

At. Madrid -pld 36, pts 88
Barça -pld 36, pts 85
R. Madrid -pld 34, pts 82.

As you say, Atletico just need to win both their games and are champs whatever Madrid do as they win the head to head aswell.

Madrid need to win their 4 games and Hope Barça take points off Atletico.

when you look at this list, its quite unbelievable really. It HAS been their league to capture, yet they have well and truly blown it.
Too many just concerned with the Champions League glory nights. Mourinho needs to hack away at that attitude now.

And to think to add to above, chelsea were 7 points ahead with them only having 9 games left on march 8th [city were 9 behind & had 3 games in hand that date]-you would never really guess they had that advantage

Sorry, yeah. I was confusing the cup win as one of the league games.

I think they had the chance to go 10 points up at one point if they'd beaten Villa away. Others with two games in hand like, but even so.

Just at that point the CL KO games came thick and fast. Too many taking their eye off the ball of what was really important.
