Well I would have the majority of that side, well maybe not the defence, in preference to the team the other night. They look livelier, pacier, more "tricky", just fresher. Maybe cos they might be playing a place perhaps, but even so, far better on the eye.

Wilshire spending more time on the deck than a first mate, Milner is no right back and Smalling is bloody atrocious other than that not too shabby, well pretty shabby actually must do better.

Hodgson confirmed he's an idiot with that one.

i wouldn't ha. i would be struggling to put him in the squad after the season he's had, because only one of him and lampard should be there and lampard would be the more fresher and has always been the better player with more to offer. i wouldn't pick a player for a WC squad purely because he can take a good set piece - especially not with italy in the group.

playing 5 at the back allows you to go with an exciting middle three of barkley, carrick and lallana of which you could possibly play oxlade-chamberlain behind sturridge or rooney. but that would go against england's famous 4-4-2.

.....don't think Carrick is in this squad is he? I think we need a shield in front of the back four to be honest. Gerrard will have to play that role rather than Lampard.

The backs to the wall, braveheart, 3 lions, roar - 4-4-2 :P

I wouldn't have Gerrard either - but he is currently Captain and won't be dropped. I'm liking it though solid players at the back with pace and a bit of creativity in the front half. Would have a chance of playing some good stuff - may lose a bit more often but would also proabably win a few more too - and look better doing it
