Mertesacker is absolute dogs**t.

This United team will be the ones to beat in the title race this season.

Thing is though, this is no vintage United, far from it. Rooney and Van Persie are a potent strikeforce, Valencia is at the top of his game right now and there's a few others throughout the side but their defence isn't what it used to be when Vidic and Ferdinand were the best partnership in Europe.

Chelsea are the team to beat for me this season. City should be but they don't seem to have the same belief that late 90's early 00's United had.

Nah, i think United will come first after a final day of the season which sees Everton finish a close second after their FA Cup win.

Sorry mate.

They look utter tripe though. Cazorla is decent and Wilshere will be once he gets back to 100% but the rest of them look distinctly average.

Hmm, think you're underselling them to be honest.

Podolski is ace, Gervinho has come on leaps and bounds this year, Arteta is Arteta, Cazorla is more than "decent", Wilshere has the potential to be far above that too, Oxlade-Chamberlain is pretty exciting, Rosicky was immense at the end of last year but is currently injured and defensively, on paper, Vermaelen and a much improved Koscielny aren't bad.

They definitely have holes but they look a better team than last year. Unfortunately the one individual they lost was the league's top scorer. If Giroud can get a decent return and others can chip in -- which I'd expect Podolski to do -- then I don't see them being troubled for a top 4 position.
