I'm British, have had family die over many generations fighting wars and I know they wouldn't give a flying **** if someone wanted to wear a plazzy flower or not. I'm not having a go at those who've been in the military on here, btw. Good luck to you.

It's all pretty sinister to me though: "get your poppy on...where's your poppy?!!...you must have a poppy....you're spitting on the dead's faces....burn him, he hasn't got a poppy!!!"

For what it's worth, I don't think people should be obliged to wear one. This kinda sums up my feelings on it

The first world war, after which the poppy was started, was such a barbaric waste of life it's hard to even contemplate the industrial scale of the massacres that took place each day.

I despise how those in power can dare to wear the things whilst they continue sending people to war over such small things, just as they did back then. The whole thing should be a source of national shame rather than the petty one-upmanship it is today.

Is this the first time in GOT history where you and Bruce are in 100% agreement?

For McClean remembrance day has political associations with the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. This can be read about on the remembrance day wiki. No one should be told what to wear besides their required work uniform.
