Dude, in fairness you said you'd rather have Beattie than Johnson.

That makes your view null and void for at least four days. Until the madness passes.

That was taken out of context. I said the way AJ was playing I would rather have had Beattie. So basically I was saying that AJ has been a pile of crap in front of goal.

the thing with the TW regulars is the hole they have dug for themselves, its now a case of spite, they wont allow themselves to appreciate and applaud positives like games, signings, off field activities because it doesnt fall into line with their resounding negativity. to admit they are wrong now would mean eating goliath slices of humble pie. its a pride thing.

yes, ghost, thats exactly what I was saying, we needed to buy more midfielders.

we had cars, neville,, osman and on the bench vidarsson (who has worn the shirt twice or something) and jags.

that isn't lightweight its non-existant.

Yes we have alot of injuries, we'll have more after trying to guide a stupidly small squad through 4 competitions.

I'm not coming up with this now. all through summer I said our squad was too small. And after the transfer window closed. It still is.

wait until we have more injuries and the african nations comes.

after midfield the next disaster waiting to happen is the centre of defense.

One of them boys injured and yobo in africa and lo and behold we'll be shoving jags or neville back there.

Part of Moyes' philosophy, whether you like it or not, is building a small tight knit squad, that gels and has balance and great team spirit. This isn't just based on money, its a deliberate tactic, although obviously having less money it means we can pay more for one player instead of buying two.

this is great for the premiership, but doesn't tie with a squad that rotates like virtually all modern sides that play in europe.

So like it or not our choices were limited by moyes tactics, not necessarily ill fortune.

You are right about the tight knit squad and to be fair it works so i suppose moyes is thinking if it ain,t broke don,t fix it.
I agree on the midfield to but to be fair we had manny lined up and he ran out on us and to be fair there was no time left to get a decent player in.
The problem moyes had this summer was that the money wasn,t available until mid august and there is not a lot he could do about that but i,m sure we will be ok once our better players are back

agreed. I'm not being too harsh, fernandes left us at the last minute and so we made the last ditch effort for riquelme.

however that was it (gravesen aside but we needed him as well as another midfielder), I think we should have gone hell for leather to get Appiah or someone of his ilk.

You look at someone like yakubu 12.5 million or whatever it was- - I'm making no judgements of him yet as its far too easy, but how we could of done with someone like Carrick.

nothing fancy, just pass move, accurate balls to feet and balls to run onto.

players that can pass tidily are ten a penny in europe.

what about that Vogel guy, why didnt we bust a gut for him?

Vogel wasn,t good enough or he would have been here.
I agree for the next step up we do need a player like appiah but we did,nt have the time to get him no club is going to sell quality with 3 or 4 days left in the window cos there is no time to replace them and we ran out of time for some reason the money came too late into the transfer window.

vogel wanted betis to pay up the remainder of his contract and then allow him a free transfer to us, betis eyed not paying up and getting a nominal fee for him, moyes wasnt prepared to be duped by such charlatans who hinted at a free then started playing silly beggars.

talking to a [Poor language removed] fan the other day and he cited alonso being out as the reason they are [Poor language removed], so

arteta gravesen cahill pienaar

all being out is a rather sizable chunk of our squad never mind 4 elevenths of out first team.

Well I will if you don't mind. Slagging off the boss last night was totally unfair. He put out the best team he had available. Hibbert and Neville have limits on what they can produce, Faddy seems to be limited in what he can produce for Everton. and AJ needs to learn how to score again. None of those elements were the manager's fault last night.

I just think people made their mind up about Moyes a while ago and just wait for bad things to happen to say, told you so bollocks.

All this negative energy doesn't give for a good atmosphere. The ground last seemed silent midway through the first half - not anywhere near the atmosphere we needed.

Bottom line is the majority of Evertonians have been through the dark ages that now there are in the light they are finding it hard to adjust to the brightness. So they find it easier to moan.
Ghost mate I never uttered one complaint at the game because no one improves by being barracked but I think your wrong about Moyes last night OK we had injuries and may be these where the best players available that being the case you play to your strengths so you would not have Hibbett trying to attack his only asset is his tackling likewise Neville cant pass to save his life so you dont put him in a midfield of three ,what surprised me was the desperation for a second goal first rule of European football dont concede at home the space given to the opposition was scary their goal summed it up

I didn't see the match but from what I understand if we don't miss 2 penalties then there really is no problem right?

I've been avoiding ToffeeWeb since that match. I don't feel like reading a 10,000 word essay on how Moyes' decisions are the equalivent of war crimes against toffeeweb and that he needs to extridated to the Hague.

we missed 2 pens, goal disallowed too (apparently strikers aren't allowed to jump for the ball at all anymore)

on that subject... why are keepers over protected these days? I am a keeper and I expect to be hurt, slid into and pushed when I go for the ball, part and parcel of a contact sport.
