ToffeeWeb

I agree. Keepers are usually the tallest player in the side, they have the advantage of using their arms and have sufficient protection to bundle any player out of the way pretty much anyway they please. The odds are really loaded heavily in their favour.

To be fair though this is the same with most things inside the penalty area. I'm sure defenders get away with much more inside the area than they ever do outside it. It's a risk thing for referees. They know if they give decisions inside the area it will probably result in goals, so they give the doubt to the defensive side.

I didn't see the match but from what I understand if we don't miss 2 penalties then there really is no problem right?

I've been avoiding ToffeeWeb since that match. I don't feel like reading a 10,000 word essay on how Moyes' decisions are the equalivent of war crimes against toffeeweb and that he needs to extridated to the Hague.

I've been avoiding the place for a while now. You're spot on. I want to enjoy being an Everton fan occasionally. Ken Buckley and the occasional match report is the only thing worth reading. Every post gets hijacked by the same old people with the same old hobby horses, each shouting over others views. Too much shouting for me.

Shame too - used to be a cracking site.

This place seems good so far - lets keep up the good work

It always will be to mate, we don't really allow negativity on here - apart from after a frustrating game like Thursday

Thats just the way football is and always has been (well as long as i can remember).
Keepers and defenders are given more protection inside the box because imagine how much whinging would go on if a team lost 7-2 because those 5 silly little fouls that would be an innocuos free kick in the middle of the park resulted in penalties and sending offs for denying goal scoring chances.
I'm sure refs and most players are happy to give the defending side the benifit of the doubt really.
