Every year we release or sell hundreds of youth players mate.

Ive said before, but we have the 2 Manchester Clubs and Liverpool in our catchment area, this window we even have Chelsea poaching 1 of our better prospects.

Its very possible that Simms and Cannon dont have the required talent to make it in the Premier League, we very, very rarely get it wrong.

Ive seen em come and ive seen them go over the years, John Paul Kissock, Kieran Dowell and a cast of loads of others.
I appreciate that and I think Simms was the right decision but Cannon has had 6 months of a loan - that's not enough to decided whether he is/isn't suited to first team football. It's not like we're flush with players atm, especially not attacking ones. No one can convince me that he'd be any worse than Maupay

Simms and Cannon may not be good enough to start in most PL sides , but both would get into our squad at this moment in time - said with the confidence of a man who’s watching our current “ best” striker the car crash that is Maupay.

Probably not but look at it like this if Simms had been on loan from another club at hearts 21 games 7 goals and then the same last season on loan at Sunderland 17 games 7goals 2 assists then 11 games 1goal for his parent club would we be happy paying £3.5m for him and giving him a chance I probably would so now to me that deal to sell him looks poor as will a cannon deal I think he would benefit more from a loan again for his future but right now I’d have him ahead of maupay at least if he doesn’t perform he’s cost us nothing it kills me to think we’ve paid £15m to see maupay play in a blue shirt and as I said in a earlier post as long as he is fit he will be getting minutes whether that’s starting or off the bench. He shouldn’t be anywhere near the squad.

Hamstring injury according to Bobble, doesn’t explain why he went to watch Preston rather than 1 of the club’s two games

Be a mistake if we let him leave on a permanent deal Fred , unless we receive an outrageous fee and have 2 strikers lined up.
Since Bobby left we haven't had a manager who's been prepared to give young players a decent opportunity, and as a club I feel we've not aided their transition from junior to senior football as a result. I used to get worked up about it which is why I don't partake in the youth team threads anywhere near as much as I used to.

Holding onto the lad and not playing him (which is what I would expect to happen under Dyche) is not what Cannon needs right now. You just know that Dyche will play Maupay ahead of him or somebody like Gray out of position. So loan him to Preston where he obviously has a strong affinity or sell him with appropriate buy-back and sell on clauses.

We still need to get rid of Maupay and bring in at least 1 new striker though. This Danjuma guy looks like he could cover the 3rd striker duties if need be. I just don't see the need to potentially ruin another young player's career on top. Don't get me wrong Jazz, if I thought for a moment that Dyche would actually utilise him in the 3rd striker role I'd keep him.

With Simms leaving that means we have got rid of 2 Strikers who have scored 1 goal for Everton in the last 6 years.

I really dont know how we recover as a football club with such a loss.
Clearly counting the minutes these players played, you know, at the club. Your stats need to account for games played in blue also pal.

You normally post pretty sound stuff but this is off the rail.

Its tongue in cheek a little, I know neither have played for Everton.

I have no idea if either is good enough, but im going to trust the highly paid coaches we employ who make these decisions.

As I said earlier, they very rarely call it wrong in these cases.

Send him to Preston for 6 months, then re look at it in the winter.
If Dcl remains a sicknote, we may need him as cover for Danjuma.
