If you dont try any player & sell - & he becomes a star, it's your own fault - end of ... We seem to do this, e.g. the left back position nearly got us relegated - ref a USA young international sold for 4 million playing for Fulham who were much higher up than us in the Premiership, add that to their Manager we let go too ....... Everton That - OK Cannon missed chances the other day, but at least he was on the end of them - the only chance Maupay created was the pen he was given ..... & he cost 15 million & a higher wage too!

Other than that he was poor in his all round forward play = Maupay nothing has changed with him fitter or not imo...

Great prospect . Really hope we keep Cannon and he gets some game time. The more likely scenario is we loan him and then sell for buttons.

The lad played his first 7 games for Preston without scoring last term!
Lowe stuck with him and reaped the rewards.
If we expect a kid who has played a grand total of 1,791 minutes to hit the ground running, you are all in for a big surprise.

Its why he shouldnt be our '3rd choice' for next season, he should be out there again! Learning consistency, how to play 3 games in a week and how to deal with barren runs/good goalscoring runs etc! Its all a learning curve!

Being 3rd choice centre forward here next season will learn him nothing, apart from the odd 8 minutes at the end if we are particularly chasing a game!

Any well ran club would have a loan in place for him already with our set of strikers ready for next term! But that's a well ran club i suppose!

Whatever game is the first team. Wigan?

Anyway, he is better than what he showed last week.

He is.

He also got himself into position for 2 very good chances... which most ex players would tell you not scoring isn't an issue - not getting yourself into positions for chances is an issue.

Why are we not talking about him more?

8 goals in 20 games for a middling Championship team. That's a solid return at just 20 years old.

Some decent goals here:

He had a good loan there but remember it’s the championship and some of the defending is poor for some of them goals he took them well but he doesn’t get some of them opportunities in the prem. would definitely benefit from another full season in the championship rather than a few games staying with us.

All that has happened so far is that players have been training for fitness.
There was a kick around with the local team last Friday but it was little more than that.

We will see a little more intensity this weekend but it will probably be another week before we see some real structure appear.

I would expect some players came back fitter than others, some are naturally more athletic anyway and I expect they will be cautious with DCL, Patterson and maybe a couple others.

I assume Mykolenko , Branthwaite and Garner will be back at some stage next week.

That is true about prestige players, but honestly someone who is half-decent / competent improves us.

No point in selling him now, think he needs 6 months / a year to show his level against PL defenders.

At best he really kicks on and we're not even talking about selling, at worst he shows that he's not ready for the prem yet but we know he can cut in the championship so move him on like Simms.
Loan or sell. Not sure if he will come out good.
He’s already 20 and the prestige players start to breakout way before 20.
Think you are referring to players that are generational talent. We don’t need.him to end up at Real Madrid for him to be playing for Everton at some point next season
