He's not world class, but he has something to prove. If he really recaptures some of his form from his early days we'll start to fret about someone coming in for him. If not, and he ends up surplus in two or three years time, we'll probably get 6 to 8 milion for him

At the end of the day, Pienaar and Osman are losing their legs and Gibson's never really had any, meaning we're losing all sense of creativity in midfield. Ferguson, Wenger, Martinez and a ton of others rate the lad, he's played for England a fair few times, he's only 25 and he gives a different option. Not to mention he's on a free ffs.
He's never gonna set the world alight, but he's a tidy addition. If Cleverley's the only signing in the middle of the park then by all means fume away but I'd be very surprised if that the case. Would imagine Martinez has an exact role in mind for him seeing as he rates him so highly, be interesting to see what he does with him and hope he can flourish. Seriously struggling to see the downsides here the more I think about it...and I hadn't even mentioned his missus.

I'm still undecided as to whether he will be a success or not but he is clearly someone that Martinez believes will help the side play the style of football that he wants.
