That's central midfield sorted for the foreseeable future. Cleverley, McCarthy, Barry, Gibson, Besic, Barkley and Ledson. Unless we sell any of the younger players we will be fine for years.

Our whole season failed due to people trying to be something they arent.

12months down the drain.

Give me the one trick ponies back.
With any young players it is all about development, to become the finished article they need to improve in various areas.
Lukaku, McCarthy, Stones, Barkley, Garbutt are all young and have bags of potential, but all make mistakes and need to improve to fulfil this potential.
In not looking at improving their development would be areal shame and also very short sighted of the manager and the club moving forward

I must have missed the protest marches against this signing. Everybody is entitled to their opinon but a vocal minority on a forum chatroom has never represented the voice of the majority of matchgoing Everton supporters.
If/when Cleverly steps onto the pitch at Goodison in the Everton colours he will be cheered to the rafters and as long as he gives of his best that support will stay with him.

There is a reason so many players get infected with the Everton virus and the supporters are a huge part of that. If a player were to gauge support from for a such as this I don't think we would be even able to field a team.

In the lurkers we trust.

Good news that. Not the most head turning signing, but a lad who is probably an awful lot better than some on here seem to think.

England international, age 25, on a free.

Amen.

If nothing else, the price is right. And this shores up my concerns about a lack of pace in the midfield.

Meh underwhelmed bit peeved but time to get behind him and hope he does a good job.

Hopefully Del and a decent playmaker are on the way
