Rather we keep ahold of Tom than McCarthy to be honest. He's now become the type of player we originally signed him to be, a squad player who can come in for cup and mid-week games and do a safe job. Not someone we bring off the bench to try and chase a game or a someone we put out wide as a creative outlet.

Those words could have related to Rooney, Scholes but Tom Cleverley. Frankly it's an embarrassment. I'm just glad to see words from a manager who tells it as it is. Spoke as much about the first half display not being up to standard on Monday as much as the win itself.

You can see what koeman is trying to do by signing physical players like bolasie williams and trying to sign sissoko. Cleverly is too lightweight and not progressive enough as a player to succeed in this league

I said he would be a good squad option, I watched him at Villa and he was a decent player, to be fair to him hes never been given a chance here in the middle of the park.
Im not saying hes amazing and the players ahead of him at the club are there on merit, Barry, Gana, Davies, McCarthy, Besic are all better than him in midfield, thus means we have no need to play lip service, hes surplus, hes gone.
