I reckon we could get 5m for him in January. Get him sold. While we're on it might as well pack off Oviedo and Lennon too, as it's obvious none of the three will get a look in under Koeman. 10m for the lot.

Now if only we could find buyers for Niasse, Kone, McGeady ...

Name three game costing mistakes he made while playing for us in his natural position and not on the wing

Fortunately, in his natural position of sitting in the stands he can do very little damage.

Every where else he's a nightmare. His performance away at City last season in the LC semi was one of the most cowardly I've ever seen from an Everton player.

I don't recall it being especially cowardly in the slightest

Got anything else?

I'll answer that for you, no, you haven't

Do you know why you haven't? Because there's absolutely nothing wrong with him

He gets in there, does a job, doesn't do anything overly impressive, nor does he do anything especially bad and then he turns up at training the next day and the cycle repeats

He is fine. Not amazing. Not brilliant. Fine. Serviceable. Ever so slightly above average

He's roughly 4th or 5th in line as a CM who will only play in the Milk Cup or if people get injured, and he's happy to do that without kicking up a fuss

He doesn't deserve literally ANY of the stick he gets

Stop having a go at this lad because you hate Roberto Martinez

It's thoroughly pathetic

there's absolutely everything wrong with him as a professional footballer at this level mate.

Genuine question: what do you deem to be his natural position? Where should he be playing and whom should he be challenging for a place?

Some may say as a number ten, but I personally think he has neither the creativity nor the influence to fulfil this role at our standard.

So would you say central midfield? This is a more likely option but again I wouldn't be confident here and we've already said no as a winger.

And I think that's the ultimate problem - Tom has no real confirmed role and is instead just a bit player who is meant to be jack of all trades.

Although that means he hasn't actually developed himself to a standard in any role. Hopefully Koeman just says, "This is what I expect of you".

In my team, he'd be a CM and about 4th or 5th in line

He's second to last and just ahead of Gibson, provided Gibson is sober

So he'll essentially only play if we have injuries/suspensions

He's back up and nothing more, and perfectly fine in that role

Alright then, where's your evidence?

Name me situations where he's cost us points or matches when he's played in the middle

You won't be able to

Name me games where he's been unremarkable but has done a job where we've needed it, you'll have plenty

He's a back up utility player we got on the cheap

If Koeman had signed him in this window and he had exactly the same level of skill that he does now, not a single one of you would be bothered, especially if we got him on a free just to make up numbers

He is merely a vessel for your Martinez hate, just as Osman was for people's Moyes hate
