Not a god awful footballer but just not very good. Not really a defensive midfielder or a no 10, not creative, doesn't move play forward or retain possession, not quick, doesn't score goals. I guess he ran around a lot so i'll give him that but other than that i genuinely have no idea what he's purpose was. Can't blame the lad too much though. It was Martinez who hailed him as this amazing Spanish Englishman who was beyond compare. Hopefully he does alright at Watford and they buy him at the end of the season.

He's a reasonably decent technical player but he isn't particularly defensive, not an incisive passer, doesn't score goals, doesn't inject energy into the side, just a really average, non-descript player

Won't be sad to see him leave. Really thought Martinez would get the best out of him but I couldn't have been more wrong.
