Tom Cleverley

A bit like Rodwell, I have no idea what Cleverley actually does

He's a reasonably decent technical player but he isn't particularly defensive, not an incisive passer, doesn't score goals, doesn't inject energy into the side, just a really average, non-descript player

Won't be sad to see him leave. Really thought Martinez would get the best out of him but I couldn't have been more wrong.

He is not exactly a 'bad' player. But he does not posses the ability to dictate the tempo and run a game, which you need midfielders to do.
He loves to move into an area where he cannot influence an attack and very rarely shows for the ball, especially if his colleague is under heavy pressure.

Hard to say exactly why it has gone wrong for him as we undoubtedly a talented lad when he first broke through.

Hope he does well at Watford and can settle there.

:)

He has been terrible for us. But I think it is a mentality thing with him. It happens to many professionals, especially if they suffer injuries.

He was terrible at United and Villa as well. Especially Villa.

Got to say he is one of the most irritating Everton signings we've ever made. Was never going to be good enough for us and El Fraudo's insistence on putting him into the team week in, week out exacerbated the situation.

I dread to think what his win percentage at Everton is.

He is a system player. We have too many of them. Set up a team for him and get him to rigidly perform ad do the same thing for 90 minutes and he does OK. Ask him to use any nous and add a bit of creativity to his game and he will struggle. Classic modern footballer.

Yes he was a good pro who gave 100%, but that is just the minimum expectation for an Everton player!

Didn't produce the goods on the pitch, poor player, all the best now see you later!
Getting a bit sick of us loaning out rather than selling players already. Hull won't be giving us £10m for Niasse and Watford will see Clev isn't worth £8m and won't be giving us that, both will be back with us end of the year. These agreed fees sound all well and good but when they fail and come back there's less chance of selling them the next time. I'd take half the agreed fees for both now and get shot permanently.

Agree with this in terms of the Cleverly loan as he's been around the prem for years and people know what they're getting, but a loan is our only hope of getting rid of Niasse for now!

Is going to be a player and will get 7 or 8 goals and a good 10 assists this season. Good first touch and aware of space. Also having legs for the full 90 minutes is going to dovetail with McCarthy just beautifully. Fine bit of business on a free will grow into his first team role to the point where we'll think hes been there forever. Happier with him than the Deulofeou deal and that deals on the cards for being a good one.

Pleasing.

There's plenty of this good stuff in here lads.

Grab a coffee and have a look
