Probably didn't make a profit. Papers reported he didn't go to Villa because he wanted 60k a week then he would get a big signing on fee for being a free.

60k multiplied by 144 weeks is just over 8 million. Add in any signing on fee and we've lost a fair bit.

Good luck to him, never did anything but try his best whilst here. Can't be annoyed at him for not being good enough, got offered a good contract and took it.

He was only here a season and a half which is only 78 weeks as Watford have paid his wages since so that is about £4.5 million wages.
