Just send him out on loan before everyone turns on him ffs, He needs to find his position and learn not to take a lifetime on the ball.

@catcherintherye report to this thread immediately, 2000 word apology for comparing Davies to Pienaar

I think there are aspects of Davies's game that remind me of Peinaar mate, but he is still a very young player and Peinaar was well into his prime at Everton. Lets see how he develops under Silva. There will be a piece up soon saying about how our inability to fully develop young players has cost us, hopefully Davies doesn't fall into that category!

Absolutely unbelievable. Coming on this website wiuld put any kid off becoming a professional footballer. Giving a teenager such horrendous abuse because he plays crap in a pre season friendly. God help us.

In fairness, he was utter crap all last season as well, and a complete liability when ever he got the ball. Actually, he was also a complete liability when he didn't have the ball, the way he flew recklessly into every challenge.

He needs game time to develop, and he may yet come good if he learns some composure. That game time just needs to be no where near our first team this season.

Even if that is true it doesn't excuse some of the comments on here mate. We crucify youngsters at Everton, always have done, always will.

The lad isn't ready to be a starter here for sure. For a teenager he's played far too many games at the top level, (think he's featured in 95% of our games since he broke into the team 18 months ago). He needs a break but he doesn't need offloading to a championship side like so many are saying. He'll just regress.

Keep him with the first team squad. Give him a break from playing but still training daily with the first team players. Get some one on one coaching from Silva working in his weak area's (of which there are many at the moment as you would expect with 99.9% of kids just turned 20, then introduce him into games from the bench, until Silva feels he's ready to start games again. There's a footballer in there, a decent one. Whether he is good enough to move forward with Everton (assuming we move forward) we don't know yet, but he certainly shouldn't be written off yet either.
