His lack of development is on himself and nobody else, couldn’t give a monkeys what clothes he wears. He is the one with the supposed talent, I know someone who went to school with him, and he basically said he wasn’t even see as being that good in school boy terms, I’ve seen enough of that on the pitch to agree. I’ve seen him misplace a pass from 5 yards more times than I’ve seen him do anything else

HAHAHAH HE’S 20 and plays for a Premier League football team.

Even if he ends up dropping to a league 2 team he’s still unreal at football.

That doesn’t make him good enough to play for Everton then does it?

My comparison was between him and Richarlison as they are a similar age, I think we can all see who the better player is and the one who will develop further.

Didn’t go to school with me, didn’t say that. He went to to school with TD. If he’s that good he would be getting in the team. What’s he done since scoring against city 3 years ago? He hasn’t progressed at all, people say oh he’s only 20 but Richarlison is 21 and playing regular for Brazil and is a starter every week for us.

Good for him but he's cleary chatting complete wham.

Players develop at different rates and Davies is coming along just fine.

Thing is, he had that City game and expectations were raised.

He's 20, got a lot of things to work on, but is probably on schedule for where he should be in his career.

Looking forward to seeing him develop in the coming years

Haha, I really do believe people make these things up. Whatever people think of him now, within months of leaving school Davies was captaining the England u17 team and when they were short , stepped into a full England training session. Outstanding progress from “ not being that good in school boy terms”.

He's 20 years old he has time on his side, If he was older I might have agreed with the other posters but he's not crap as people make out and we have loads of time for this lad.
T W E N T Y years old.

If he gets a game next season and he’s just been bossed off the pitch by another CM probably someone like Mark noble, we will come back to this thread and have the same discussion. He’s rubbish, I hope to be proved wrong but have seen him in plenty of games to form my own opinion.

Coming along just fine? What sat on the bench every week? Must be loving the splinters he’s getting.

So what if Richarlison’s better than him? Some players are better than others? What a stunning revelation.

Hmm ok, clearly unable to debate the point any further. Yes players are better than the next, well done. The comparison was used to highlight that his age shouldn’t be an issue or an excuse used as there are plenty of players around his age that are ‘developing’ a lot better than what he is.

Gonna put it out there mate, that a lad who was getting games in the Premier League as a 17 year old and was captaining England youth sides while he was actually a school boy was, in fact, very good "in school boy terms". I'd also suggest that it could be possible that the coaches of a Premier League club and the England national team are better judges of talent than someone that you know "who went to school with him".

Except it can be used as an excuse because, as we’ve established many times, not every player develops at the same trajectory and not every player is as good as Richarlison at 21.
