It’s because we don’t give enough of them an opportunity, and the ones that do (Davies) get dogs abuse from the fans. Hardly a supportive environment conducive for young players to thrive - not only is it going to encourage the likes of Simms to go elsewhere, it’s not going to encourage even younger players to choose the Everton academy when there isn’t a clear pathway to first team opportunities like there is at other clubs.

Plenty of quality young players have left the club. Baffling really when you consider we’re bereft of the energy and unpredictability that youth often brings

Some of them though do not possess the quality to warrant a place in the team, even when it’s as bad as it is now.

Really looked spent. Silvas fault for leaving him on the pitch. Couldn't track back. Was giving away possession. How did marco leave him on when everyone cud see he was actually gone

Not really mate. It's more down to local players. Take DCL. There is no way Barkley or Davies would be afforded that amount of time without producing

It's not just that mate. We win League after league and Cup after Cup but we haven't really produced anyone since Rooney. And he was a no brainer. Unless you claim Barkley
