I thought he was excellent today. His ability to buy free kicks should not be lost on folk. Richarlison does it, Calvert Lewin is starting to do and Davies does it. In game management just to take the sting out the game is massively important and we managed those last 10 minutes superbly today.

Wasn’t bad at all. He and Sigurdsson have looked decent on the offensive side, but are an abomination as a defensive pair.

Expectation vs. reality...it's disproportionate with local kids. I've read enough comments in my years to see it. It's bad enough to be predictable.

Thought Tom Davies had a very decent game against a Newcastle midfield that looked like it was about to steamroll over us. I felt lad made a few good passes and looked more comfortable and confident taking on the opposition. Very pleasing to see.

Yes and no. People can tend to dismiss a player who hasn't got a fancy name and/or didn't cost a fortune, just on that basis. On the other hand, other people give disproportionate credit to 'young whoever', just because he's 'one of ours'. Footie being an emotional thing, it's very difficult to be absolutely rational and objective.

Realise now that I've said absolutely nothing net, but I've had a drink, so please bear with me.

That limits what he can offer in terms of an attacking threat.

Yeah noticed on one occasion we had broke away and when whoever it was had got to the byline Davies was 10yards further back than I thought he should have been. there was only 1 easily marked player in the box. Probably knackered mind you.
