Needs to play at his stage of career. Better off on a loan somewhere and getting the experience than wasting his time on the bench or out of the first team. I think there's a player in there, and even if it's not going to make it here, we need to get him out there and improving so he can be moved on for every party's benefit. I could see him for a mid table premier league team and occasionally having a blinder - that's a good level of player, just not if you want to be challenging top 4 or 6 let alone getting to the top.
If Silva feels he isn't good enough for the bench against Lincoln, alarm bells must be ringing. Either something is up or he just isn't good enough.
...there seems a pre-occupation on here with sending players on loan. History shows that Everton loaning ex-Academy players doesn’t work. It’s an incorrect assumption that players who go on loan will improve.

Set the standard high, you either make it or you don't.
Simple fact is most players don't improve beyond their youth.
But think Davies will be a useful squad player, if not better.

I agree. Not getting a run out for 2 league games hardly means he's not in the manager's plans. He may just be waiting his moment or see him playing a different role to what is required in those games.

Left out for tactical reasons would generally mean a player doesn’t fit the way the manager wants to play. Saying that, Silva might prefer to include him at the weekend. If he is left out again, the discussion will justifiably increase.

All those three are ball winning or defensively minded midfielders, though. Which Davis isn't. In my mind, he's got Gomes and Delph to compete with. Now, I'd be hoping he's also learning a lot from Delph since he got here.
Very doubtful with delph still fit and Silva falling for schnederlin.

I’ve always like Davies playing style, I hope he comes good, but unfortunately for him and many others they don’t get the prolonged chance in the first team like DCL had had.

He has played 20 minutes since February, its not exactly a thing over the first couple of games.
I like Davies, but sometimes managers just dont rate or want to use certain players based on a whole set of different reasons.
Silva has had plenty of opportunitys to go with Davies, and pretty much since the home game v Spurs last season, his option has been anyone but.
The lad needs a loan, a nice little year up at celtic would do the trick
