I can't help but feel that it is the manager giving him a not so gentle reminder that his primary focus should be on football rather than fashion.

He is a player I like a lot but is moving on from being a young boy who gets into the first team now and then . He needs to be playing far more regularly than he is just now.
He needs to force the managers hands but doesn't seem to be doing this.

Of course, there may be other reasons like getting familiar with a different role , we simply don't know.

All those three are ball winning or defensively minded midfielders, though. Which Davis isn't. In my mind, he's got Gomes and Delph to compete with. Now, I'd be hoping he's also learning a lot from Delph since he got here.

Agreed. He can't be trusted at the 6 and definitely can't be paired with Gomes.

He recently signed a new long term contract. He is also the local poster boy - no way he’s going anywhere until BMD is finished IMO.

Must be very poor in training because nobody has really done anything on the pitch to keep him out of the side/bench. He was decent in his little cameo this season as well.

Silva seems to have finally noticed that he is at best a Championship player , hopefully soon enough he will realise DCL is too .

Bad for him to not even be named as a sub today.

Would have him to provide some energy.

His future is dire. Whether that's a good thing or not seems to divide opinion here. Can't be disputed that he'd better make the most of his next chance, and hope that it's not long in coming.

Clearly Silva hasn't been impressed by Davies. Hard to argue given what we've seen over the last two years.
