Tom was fine when he came on I actually think that position suits him best just ahead of two midfielders he has freedom to press and thread little balls, his issue is he won't get that luxury most weeks.

Said in the manager thread for me that position you mention is ideal for Gomes - Silva played him as a deep lying CM but without Gana next to him his inability in tackling and his lack of pace really stood out.

For me these next 3-4 games against the better sides we should be going with a 3 man midfield with Schneiderlin & Delph shielding the defence with Gomes just ahead given free reign to get balls into the attackers.

Not sure how many “top half” teams TD would get into...squad player at best for me, especially if we want to challenge for European places

....I like Davies, he can bring real energy to a game. I don’t, however, think he’s the type to bring on when you want to shut up shop. He makes me nervous in possession because he can give the ball away, and he lacks composure which means he can give away silly free-kicks.
Agree with this. He has me with my hands over my eyes sometimes. He seems to be so weak physically when a player comes into him. Needs to work hard to really build himself up

Good little cameo today.
Did well when he came on, a couple of passes which led to chances, showed some strength, not afraid to assert himself/let others know he is there and often managed to find himself in space. Also him coming on and the shape change managed to completely change the pace of the game.
Spot on. Did a good unspectacular job for the team. Absolutely no reason to criticise his performance yesterday

Delph should never be near our team.

Not trying to make excuses for the lad but he really hasn’t kicked in from his great start for us. Don’t think the high turnover of managers has helped him in his development. After seeing Mason Holgate this season, I’m convinced he should have been allowed to go out on loan last season. Maybe if Gomes and Gbamin hadn’t both got injured he would have been allowed to this season.
