One thing very noticeable about Tom is how comfortable he is chatting with the homeless, former addicts not much older than him or whomever. His clothes don’t bother me, his play often does but he represents himself and our club so well.

Very mature for such a young man. I think he is a future club captain.

I'd rather have Davies on the bench than Delph and Siggi. They're both at (or beyond) their peak and based upon this season they are not good enough for us. There is still plenty of scope for Davies to improve and have an impact this season. Yes, I'd rather have someone better for next season but that will be a job for Brands.

Plus there is also the question of having a number of UK players in the squad.
