Thing is I think when we're fully firing, as we were at the start of the season, we can confidently say we would beat teams like West Ham.

However, we've got used to playing a certain way, but it has its limitations. We saw them tonight, and then unfortunately our difference makers are either still injured, just returning from nearly a month out, or not performing.

Still think Carlo had other options, and one of them should probably have involved taking Davies off, as he was a liability in the 2nd half.
That system that worked well early in the season for us was sussed out, though.

We’ve got three games in Wolves, Villa and Leicester up next against teams who will attack us and go for the win. I think that’s something we can benefit from.

I’d rather face them than the likes of Burnley, Newcastle, etc.

Not good enough but not the only one.

Sadly he is still probably the best option in the role he is playing currently whilst others are injured/also crap but with less running about.

As it stands, with Digne still out, for me our best solution against the teams you mention first is the flat back four. We now have that extra quality of James to call on too, though we have to accept there will be a drop off in work rate defensively. But if he's played as a central playmaker, then we could get the legs around him in midfield. 4-3-3 needs to be dropped though, as it pushes the midfielders too wide in the current system - without both full-backs bombing on.

I think we can nick games, which we’ve proved recently and has we scored first tonight I have no doubt we win 1-0.

But if we have to take the game to the opposition we don’t have many players for that system. Digne, Richarlison, James. to a lesser extent iwobi and an even lesser extent siggurdsson( I’m really clutching at straws with that one)

But 3 of them were out tonight, and the other 2 stunk the gaff out, Richarlison hasn’t been great recently, but we also can’t expect him to be 9/10 every Game. And I don’t think the defending Deep. Try to nick a 1-0 will get us top 4 or even 6,

There is a odd , almost cult like mentality growing with this lad on social media. He has a decent game, I thought he did against Sheff Utd and some are ever so eager to point it out and in a few cases really obnoxious too. Like a in your face, petty point scoring kind of way.

I doubt the majority who don’t rate him want to see him do bad, it’s in our interest as Blues to see him and every other Everton player play great isn’t it.

he is simply not at the level to progress us. Time and space with the ball (like against Sheff Utd) he can control a game like any other midfielder afforded time and space. Take that very same time and space away from him and he is found to be in a struggle. We need better, much better.

I agree with you, I just don’t like the way some are trying to shame others into singing his praises when he actually has a decent match. It’s bizarre.

I hate when he's on and does DECENTLY defensively and suddenly everyone loves on him. We have such short memories

We have had enough time to see him put the odd good performance in compared to the abject performances in to realise he is not beneficial to this team. The odd decent performance is clouding the reality that he is not that good.

He’s not good enough and hasn’t been for many years. People come out of the woodwork when he has one solitary good game against bottom placed Sheffield United.

sick to death of watching him in that midfield.

Never want to see him in an Everton shirt ever again, he is so weak, doesnt even have the strength to pull his socks up.
Not for the first time, tonight he put the ball straight out of play when trying to pass 10 yards to a team mate
