There was a wee cameo when he came on in the Leeds game which probably summed up Carlo’s use and trust in Tom. King was coming on too and Ancelotti Jnr was showing him a playbook of moves, spending minutes telling him what was needed of him, not unexpected for a newcomer . Meanwhile Carlo had his hand on Tom’s shoulder for about 10 seconds , it looked like the conversation went “ You know what I expect of you Tom” . “ Yes Boss”. He will have good games, bad games, some in between but the bottom line is it matters not what we think, Carlo trusts him .

Surely better CMs that could have had a go than him?

Banigme was better rather see him have a go

Hes a CM, a championship CM. Def doesn't have a role the suits at PL level.

There is a place for him, playing on Sundays for his local pub. He is terrible. Pity how some great prospects just fail at the next step. Taking away my moody comments, he tries hard but is one or two divisions above his skillset.

Superb news if true. Glad to see him go for any price, atrocious.

Have no problems saying I didn't think he was good enough although I really wanted him to be. His last two performances have been exceptional though and it would be massive for the club if he can keep progressing. Local lad who loves the club. Go on Tom la

Have been far from his biggest fan as any search on my posts in this thread will show! Happy to admit however he's been excellent in the last two games, fingers crossed he can kick on from here and continue the progress he has made!

I’ve been thinking king and hard about how I can conduct my backdown over how bad a player Tom is. My only thoughts and comments have only ever been on how poor he actually is.! I think I’ve worked out a way that I can put into words how god he was last night, without contradicting all my previous musings. Last night was a terrible example of a poor Tom Davies. In fact it was the worst impression of a Tom Davies I’ve ever seen. I hope these awful levels of trying to be cr@p are continued.

Spot on. But frankly mate the way he has performed in the last two games, I didn’t think he was capable of that he has set the bar high now, like you said he needs to maintain this level of form and consistency over the coming months. Just then we might have some options in central midfield

I have had my turn having a go at his performances and I still hold with the fact that he is too slow .Saying that the one thing Carlo is adept at is making the system suit the available players and in doing so he is slowly transforming Tom Davies into the player we all want to see ,a Blue playing in Blue .
I think we all knew that he alone could never have been responsible for past performances but playing with Dukes they seem to have blended and for that and his last couple of games I bow my head .As Carlo says it is all about consistency and I hope that is where we are going with Tom

I am another poster who has questioned whether he can cut it at this level. I also questioned Calvert Lewin under Silva. The one thing with Tom for me is he looks like he’s improved his temperament. I remember only a couple of months ago he played a good 40 minutes against Arsenal then gave a pen away and struggled from that moment in the game. He looks much better mentally and weirdly looks stronger and more assured the last few appearances.

I’m unsure where this “agenda” thing has come from. People didn’t like Davies playing cos he wasn’t good enough, we were a weaker side with him in it; it’s that simple.

His last 2 performances have been very good, similar (maybe even better) to the level he produced in his break through season. If he keeps it up, then he keeps his place in the team and deservedly so. If not, then he loses it and someone else comes in.

I’m confused as to why people are now angry that other fans doubted him, when he wasn’t a good player. Just enjoy it, him getting better and Everton winning games is what we all want.
sorry slimeballs gonna need u to grovel more get down real low and lick the wheels of his skateboard. only then will the good jury of grandoldteam.com decide to forgive u and allow u to continue as part of our community.

Plays the 6 for England, keeps it simple and has always been picked. For us I think we haven't pressed him down the right path with managers coming out saying he's an attacking mid. Be an option, keep your passing straightforward, harrass attackers. Usefual squad player if he can maintain that role.

If his usual level of play costs us 3 points today I don't want to hear his fan club pipe up again.

Honestly let’s end it now,
You’re sounding like his dad or brother.
He’s had loads of chances.
Ancelotti hasn’t been brought In and paid 10mil a Year, to give Tom Davies another 30 games to see if he finally comes good.

Seriously Tom is rubbish, if he starts V Fulham Everton have two hopes - And Bob is dead
hi buddies it was with great interest i read these opinions where u thought u know soccer players better than c ancelotti thanks.
