Carlo knows more about footy than me, if Carlo wants him here, thats good with me, if Carlo want s him gone, that is good with me. I like Tom D, a good honest hard working midfielder that does lots of stuff that many don't notice

He'll get better. I'm sure DCL, Holgate and Davies push each other cos they're mates, and they'll want to play together for years to come if they can. I would love to see him do a DCL-style transformation over Summer and really work on his fitness and physique. If he was also strong & powerful - like Goretzka - he would be worth a lot more too.

Very. Digne has fed him from left back and showed how he attacks those balls.
Now put an established wide man feeding him twice as much.
Wish we could step back in time, Dave Thomas was my all time old fashioned winger, two footed and played on either wing, would love someone even half as good as him pinging crosses into the box.

If he could occasionally shoot at goal and cease passing to the opposition he might make a half decent player. He does sometimes give a good performance but as so often said before, if we have ambition to improve to a higher level, he is not of the standard we need to retain. The Championship is probably where he can do OK.

He reminds me of Leon Osman. Came through the ranks, could play well and sometimes score some cracking goals, but went missing when we were under pressure. When he left us never played again because no one else would have him or he felt playing at a lower level was beneath him.

No he didn't, he retired, he stopped playing because he wanted to do his coaching badges, he probably though he had one more season in him but he was a blue, he wasn't going to play for any old crap team, nor should he of done. Agreed about the going missing part though...not his best quality.
Tom though, tough, scruff, determined.. tries hard and able to pick a through pass at times, still young and looks willing to learn. What's not to like, except the handbags and Ket wig.

Osman was no iniesta but he was a far better player than Davies.

Just been bigged up by Carlo during his talk with Uni of Liverpool

Said Davies is the player who plays most like him when he played per Twitter
Have you seen the quote? One of the biggest backhanded compliments i've ever seen. He basically says he wasn't very good, but tried hard, and so Davies reminds him of himself, but although he wasn't very good, he was better than Davies.

I'm not saying that to mock Davies either, that was genuinely how he answered the question. Sure he didn't mean it quite the way it sounded but it came across as brutal.

He also said that Davies was still a very young player with time to improve.

I think it was probably a realistic and fair assessment of the player.

I think it may be a challenge to Tom Davies. Carlo also said Tom Davies knows of what Carlo thinks of where he is now and where he needs to be.
