Tom Davies... Its been said is the most improved this year. He probably had a knock, If Carlo comes out with "it's tactical" well Carlo made a mistake, It wouldn't be his first imo. Tom looks a different player now, far more assured in his performances. I don't want to see Tom sold. I want him to improve and grab his place at Everton.
I thought we missed him last night, he brings more urgency to midfield, and, Allan looks a much better player when Tommy D plays.

I just dont get why we dont play a midfield 3 of:
Allan / Doucoure / Davies
Them three winning the ball and playing it forward to a front 3 of Richarlison / DCL / King (when James is out) is much better than this garbage 2 up top where DCL + Richarlison just can not play together as a pairing.

Tom is still young and has played a lot this season, maybe he is trying to protect him.
Apart from that I can not see a reason to leave him out and worse still not bring him into the game instead of Gomes.
It was far from the worst performance from Gomes when he did come on but still managed to do very little.
Carlo says that Gomes has more quality on the ball than Tom but he still fluffed two of the better half chances in the game.
I think we need to let this season finish out and then see what happens over the summer , but if next season we regularly see a midfield with Gomes and Sigurdsson starting then we are fighting for eight spot again.
Like DCL according to you....
I know the Davies fans like clutching at straws when it comes to backing their man, but if you think playing Tom last night wins us the game then you really are delusional.
He proved to be our ball winner v West Ham laving Allen not on his own ..... He did not deserve to be dropped - end of -
He was dropped for Doucoure who has arguably been our best player this season. I'd understand if he was dropped for Gomes or Delph.

After bringing king in and having James fit for a few games, I don't understand why we haven't played 4 3 3 a bit more often recently....think he is trying to appease Richarlison more than anything...

Davies would have rained shots on the Villa goal, as well as scoring from the two that Gomes fluffed. On the other hand maybe I exaggerate just a little.
