Hopefully he comes back soon, next season is his final one at Everton I reckon. Want nothing but the best for him, he's got a good head on him, and I think if he'd had a single manager throughout his time since breaking through he'd be a far superior player to the one we have now.

Tom Davies and every other player will have to prove themselves all over again.
No player will be sold until Lampard and his team have had a good chance to see them in action.
Different formations may see some players prosper now that were peripheral before.

He's the new age uber woke Duncan Ferguson, in years to come these younger fans will liken him to my generations golden vision, its just what we do! It's weird I idolised Alan Whittle as a youngster and so Tom gets a free pass from me because of the family connection. Football is a wash with opinion and that's why we love it and part of our DNA is surely to support our own ground 'talent' even through rose tinted glasses?

Yup, Lampard has done well with his first two incomings, but he will sink or swim based on his outgoings. Davies, Iwobi, Gomes, Holgate, Gbamin, Delph, Coleman... he's got a lot of deadwood to burn.

I like Davies as a lad. Humble, down to earth and his own man. Lot to admire about him.

As a player though, he just hasn't kicked on. Been given plenty of opportunities and different roles and I could probably count the number of games he has really impressed me in since his first season on the fingers of one hand.

This summer he will have 12 months left on his contract - it's realistically the time when we either have to sell or give him a new deal and I think it'd be better for all concerned if he moved on now. I see this as a big summer for moving players on - there are a good number out of contract and there are a few others coming into their final year and we'll need to make decisions on them. Fortunately I think the Davies decision should be one of the easier ones.
