Tom Hanks "pretty good" four movies are?

Philadelphia, Apollo, Forrest & Saving Ryan for me.

I haven't seen any of them, but are the Dan Brown movies any good? Da Vinci Code etc.

I've dipped in and out of the first one and it's properly crap.

Don't know how much of that was because of the source material, but from memory the conversations contain some of the stupidest exposition I've ever heard.

I'm going to go with the source material for being responsible.

I really enjoyed Elvis. The lad who played Elvis was amazing. However I thought it was one of the worst performances by Tom Hanks I have ever seen.

Yeah, completely agree. Col. Tom Parker was Dutch, moving to the USA aged 20 - no idea what Hanks was doing with that accent. I think it was his worst performance and I ended the movie early because of it.

1. Gump
2. Philadelphia
3. Big
4. Shaving Ryan’s Privates

He’s obviously trying to be modest, but his body of work is unparalleled surely?

Castaway, The Burbs, Money Pit, Splash, Joe vs The Volcano, Captain Phillips, Charlie Wilson’s War, The Terminal, Road to Perdition, Catch Me if You Can and on and on the list goes. Then you have his voice work on Toy Story.

Cloud Atlas was underrated I thought, but then again I never read the book and apparently there were more than a few inaccuracies? ?‍♂️

Forrest Gump & The Green Mile would deffo be in my four either way as they are amongst my fave films ever.. though he has made a number of good films like. He's just being modest.

Yeah, I get the modesty part, but you know, international week - I figured it might make for an interesting ale house exercise to get it down to four. I can't stand Gump, love Green Mile, opinions innit?

Apart from the opening scene, Saving Private Ryan is total gash. Matt Damon’s mad scene where he tells the story of his brothers to Hanks being one of the most cringe things I’ve ever watched. Had to hide behind the sofa.

At the beginning two Czech speaking conscripts are gesturing surrender while saying that they didn't want to fight and didn't shoot. The Americans kill them and move on. I thought that was an incredibly poignant and thoughtful moment in a movie that was probably missed by most.

The rest of the movie had to made by different people, had to be.
