Tony Hibbert

Three years ago (or whenever it was)...

Everton official: Tony, we're giving you a contract extension until Summer 2016.

Hibbert: Thank you.

Fast forward to three years (and just four games/two substitute appearances) later:

Hibbert: Everton didn't tell me!

...er yes they did.

Summer 2016, means Summer 2016 - as you were doubtless told when you put an 'X' on that last contract you spoilt, selfish, self-centred sh*thouse.

The club clearly should have let him know properly.
That would have been the right thing by him. The right thing by Everton is to have stopped paying a dire footballer a wage for the last decade.
Let's :locked: this thread and memory of this "footballer".

Not his fault though, do you thank your employers every time you get paid? We offererd him a new deal knowing he was for the knackers yard but kept him on, that EFC's fault, not Tony Hibberts. He still went about his business and by all accounts, and was a good servant to Everton, but all he really wanted was to be told by the club that he was being let go, and not find out via friends/internet. It not a lot to ask for.
My point he did not thank or moan when he got -100k plus then it's a two way street!

Hibbert's ill-advised decision to complain about his 'treatment' - after receiving an ill-deserved contract extension well beyond his value to the club - shows what a pampered, out-of-touch-with-reality bubble the modern-day footballer lives in.

When, with all due (now lack of) respect, a second-rate full back who has never made a mark outside Goodison seeks to publicly promote how sorry he feels for himself, and how Everton have 'let him down', it shows how ridiculously entitled they deem themselves to be.

This particular man has long survived on a sympathy vote from club and fans alike and been handsomely paid for doing [Poor language removed] all for at least the last three years.

Hard done by? Upset? Angry?

How dare he, when many of us now gasp the cost of a match day ticket.

So get some sense of perspective all those who are sympathising with him.

These players think they are demi-gods. And your blind sycophancy fuels and sustains that belief from the moment they wake up on a morning, check their bank balance, go training for an hour, and then back to sleep again

The sooner the Sky money runs out, the better. Hibbert's outburst shows how perverse the game, and those who play it (and in this case, warm their arse on the bench), has become.

The sooner the Sky money runs out, the better.

Then, viva la revolucion...

Why does Hibbert solely cop the flak for the cup final defeat?

Just back after months out. Hottest side of the pitch (Gingers don't do heat well) No support whatsoever from the jarg turk 'thouse, and booked for nowt early on.

Jacobsen did no better.

When my contract is about to run out, with my contractor, I generally do something nuts, that most people who need gainful employment do. I suck it up and go and .......... ask. Yes, I go to the chief executive and say, 'my contract is running out on the 30th of June, what are your plans?'

In future, I have now seen the light, I will keep quiet and they will come to me because I am amazing and important.
