Nah lad Im just not an opinion less android that cant question anything that goes on at the club.

I've said many times Carlo gets next season for me but I've also said he's msde mistakes this season and long term do I think his style of management suits our players - no it suits elite players who are self motivated. Our lot need a constant kick up the arse hence why our home form is so poor when the fans aint in there to shove a rocket up them.
In a nutshell we need about 4 or 5 hungry for success players who want to win and will do anything to get it. Manager isn't the issue the mentality and quality in the sqaud is the issue.

Ever worked in a place before where the manager or some staff don't keep standards up or just aren't arsed about their job? It's infectious. Everyone new that comes in sees and hears how the others are and subsequently let their own standards drop cuz they think its OK not to give a crap and do bare minimum. The whole place ends up stuck in a subpar cycle of mediocrity. I've seen in it bars and restaurants a lot.

I honestly think something similar has been going on at Everton since Koeman and whoever the main culprits are should be weeded out and motivated players with high standards should replace them. I'm sure Ancelloti and Brands can see this anyway and will be aiming to sort it. Players like Schneiderlin and Mirallas going was probably the start of it.

You do know that a different opinion to you is also an opinion?

Its a shame that your finely tuned thoughts haven't progressed beyond thinking the solution to every problem is to shout more or hit something.
Not sure that's totally fair, I don't always agree with FB92 to be sure, but he's been consistent with his opinion on giving Ancelotti time but concerned about some of the aspects around his management.

Its ultimately down to the culture of the club - if you're a player and you rock up at Real or Bayern or Utd type club you know the expectations are to succeed and win.

Thats not the same at Everton and if you dont have players who are elite level and want to be the best and win stuff - imo you have to be the one as manager to constantly be hammering these players to keep expectations up.

Thats why we are so Jekyll and Hyde in terms of performances - these players largely as a collective squad turn up when they want its that simple and thats where Carlo has to look to adapt his management style to get the best out of this group of players.

And thats brings me back to my point earlier that I never get the feeling that these players care if they play badly or not as their isnt any repercussions - whereas like them or not you wouldn't want to go back into the dressing room after being hooked earlier by a Alex Fergusen or a Pep, Klopp, Simeone etc who look like they would hammer you in the dressing room.

He is also pretty consistent with thinking that the solution to every problem is aggressive. Which the point you replied to was about. I don't think Ancelotti should, or needs to throw players under a bus or scream and shout.

I've been concerned about parts of the season and some decisions, but it's tempered with obvious progress that some flatly refuse to acknowledge.

Yeah, I came in on the back of a discussion I wasn't a part of, I'm going back to the Newcastle game to wish both teams lose.

We don't have options to replace them that's the issue. You know if you don't hit the standards at Madrid, there will be other squad players, quality youth players looking to take your place.

We don't have that competition and chastising players publicly means that they will be much less likely to respond positively (see Mourinho).

Thats an issue but its not the whole thing.

You're a teacher - you know more than anyone that some kids value education more than others and the kids who often do the homework every week are the most motivated.

What do you to the kids who never do their homework? Pat them on the back and say better luck next time Jimmy.

No its dentention, its a bollocking because thats how we run as a society - if you dont put in effort in school, work, home, relationships there are repercussions.

Did the kids who got a bollocking or detention do better next time?

Because the kids who I went to school with who got a bollocking or detention didn't improve no matter how much someone shouted at them. In fact, after the first time, it lost all impact and they got worse.

But its not the point - if the smart kid see's someone not pulling their weight and not getting punished then they may just think "you know what I fancy playing COD online rather than do this weekends homework I might give it a miss as well".

Thats the issue - you lose control very fast if people think there are no repercussions and thats the problem with our squad. Soon as a few players dont show any effort the whole side throw in the towel.

Suddenly throw in Allan in midfield tackling and oh look Sigurdsson starts running around getting stuck in - its not magic its simple psychology.

Nah. The smart kids carried on doing well and not acting stupid.

This a a terrible analogy.

i think Top 4 is gone but we certainly have to fight for Top 6. Every game is a cup final but extra emphasis on Arsenal, Villa both ties and he biggest for me to win is West Ham away. Get players back and keep James fit and we can beat anyone!

Ever the optimist me,that west ham result for me now means we win our game in hand v Aston Villa, then turn the ammers over and we are only behind them in fourth on goal difference....it's still on!!!!(I know, shoot me now and put me out of my misery lol )
