Its ultimately down to the culture of the club - if you're a player and you rock up at Real or Bayern or Utd type club you know the expectations are to succeed and win.
Thats not the same at Everton and if you dont have players who are elite level and want to be the best and win stuff - imo you have to be the one as manager to constantly be hammering these players to keep expectations up.
Thats why we are so Jekyll and Hyde in terms of performances - these players largely as a collective squad turn up when they want its that simple and thats where Carlo has to look to adapt his management style to get the best out of this group of players.
And thats brings me back to my point earlier that I never get the feeling that these players care if they play badly or not as their isnt any repercussions - whereas like them or not you wouldn't want to go back into the dressing room after being hooked earlier by a Alex Fergusen or a Pep, Klopp, Simeone etc who look like they would hammer you in the dressing room.
