Absolutely and a solid Bluenose who supported the Blues from childhood, a proper Blue who was let down by the club but got on with it and never gave his side of the story, booed by plenty of Everton fans everytime he came back to Goodison even though he was the innocent party in how he left the club.

Few others who deserve a special mention are Jagielka, Kanchelskis and James Rodrigues.

James Rodrigues was wasted by the disgraceful appointment of Benitez who set us back years.

I was highly critical of him at the time. Cause sometimes his 1st touch was poor. But did the business in front of goal and will go down in folklore.

Bought Johnson for 8.6m, sold for 10.5 to Fulham I think, was a good signing for Everton

If that’s the measure of a good signing then he’s up there with Henry Onyekuru, bought for £7m, loaned for £700k and finally sold for £12-15m….
Or Lookman, £11m sold for £22m.

AJ wasn’t a good signing for us imho, simply because Moyes didn’t use him in the manner that had led to us buying him in the first place.
He could clearly score in the right system as his Palace record demonstrated, but Moyes simply wanted a sprinter to do the donkey work for the Yak or Cahill.
Doesn’t make him a bad signing mind, just not one that stands out for me.
