It sounds grungy to me, grunge being so popular in the early 90 messed with some of the thrash bandsSound Of White Noise is one of their best albums - just doesn't fit into their 'thrash' aesthetic so lots of fans dismiss it as their 'grunge' album
I'd suggest it's a lot fiercer than some of the more screechy and cheesy Belladonna material
