I am going for a superb 2-0 to the wonderfully entertaining Tottenham and their vocally varied fans.

An accusation that gets thrown at us a lot but it really is a myth. The main issue is that the day trippers/tourists & prawn sandwich brigade only ever join in with 'Oh when the Spurs' which is why that comes across loudest/ most frequent.

Are you saying when we come to Goodison we only sing one song?

For those of you making the long trip south
It is going to 9-10 degrees around game time, no rain & partially sunny.
AnyToffee with anything more than a replica top on is obviously a big softie b)

I will have a nice wool jacket on though......

Yid don't worry, we don't even sing. We just growl

EFC support at the Lane over the years has been pretty good on the whole. Like us, some days are better than others. Fulham at home the other week was the worst i have ever experienced. Awful.

They beat you as well, must have been gutted

Bale's absence should eliminate any chance of seeing the pointy one start. I don't even want him on the bench as the Moyesiah could be tempted to bring him on to "shore things up" if we're lucky enough to be winning.

4-0

Coleman
Jelavic
Anichebe
Barkely

No danger.

I'd already checked out Paddy Power for that score: 151/1

I'd happily pay a tenner to see us win this, so a fiver on Spurs and another on the draw has just been placed. I should add that I literally NEVER win football bets.

Today is the first of three stepping stones as we attempt to climb over the backs of Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea towards CL qualification, Let's hope we don't **** it up when playing the lesser teams: QPR, Sunderland, Fulham, the RS and West Ham.

Not really mate, disaapointed? Yes, gutted? Nah. Seen us lose one or two games over the last 40+ years. Got to take the bad with the good. Luckily i have acquired a bit of more of a 'que sera sera' attitude as i have got older.

I was quite surprised when Fulham beat you tbh, you seem to be having a good go at the Europa League as well, still confident for a CL place?

I think we are likely to get knocked out against Basle next week. They are a much better side than i gave them credit for. That could be a blessing in disguise. Personally, i would rather win the Europa and come fifth (although obviously, Europa & top 4 is better!) - but i am old and still think that silverware is preferable to 'an increased revenue stream'. However, our squad is getting thin & tired so getting knocked out next week would obviously be a benefit to our CL chances.

If we get three points today & go out of the Europa next week i think we should finish in the top 4.

Where do you need to strengthen to become challengers mate.

Arsenal have top 4 mate its chelsea and Spurs we are challenging
felt like Arsenal massive favourites for fourth for a long time and their run in looks too straightforward now. hard to judge from the highlights but they seem to have won a massive chunk of games when clearly looking like second best. I can only think of a couple of games were you could even argue we were second best and won. Lots of decisions in their favour explains part of it, but difficult to work it out apart from that, but whoever is manager next year needs to try

We need a PROPER top quality striker & maybe another left winger.

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen BAE

Lennon Dembele Sandro Sigg/Townsend/new signing

Bale
New signing

Very strong side.

Subs. Friedel, Dawson, Caulker, Rose, Defoe, Adebayor, Parker

Do you guys rate Kaboul these days then? He never seemed to get a look in when Harry was there. I always thought he looked decent though, just prone to the odd "moment".

Mate, he has improved immensely. He is on the way back from injury & as far as i am concerned he cant return quickly enough. Sandro has been the MASSIVE loss for us this season. I think if he had stayed fit we would be sitting comfortably in third & not looking over our shoulder.
