I think we're all pretty convinced 10 of those players will start. It's just who gets Barkley's place. Between him, Jelavic and dare I say it... Naismith.

Now I wouldn't mind naismith being used in a 3-6-1 as an AMC but not in a 3-4-3 as a RW.

I quite like Naismith but his confidence looks shot to bits and I think Moyes would only start him to offer protection in front of a full back. If Bale is out and we're going with wing backs then that won't be necessary.

Barkley hasn't started a league game all season and I'd be very surprised if that changed now.

With Fellaini in particular unavailable, I expect that Moyes will stick closely to last Saturday's lineup. He might drop Anichebe into midfield for his work rate though and push Mirallas further forward or he could bring Neville in.

I've been dreading this match all week. I'm usually not one to cheer for injuries, pleasant fellow that I am, but I have to admit that reading the BBC's report today that Bale is out, while Defoe, Lennon, and Gallas are also all doubtful, really put me in a decent mood.

1-3, Blue boys take the win.

Bale and Lennon both being out means AVB is going to be forced to play a midfield packed with centrally inclined players. We shouldn't have to worry too much about attacks down the flank but Gibson and Osman are going to have to put a serious shift in in the middle of the park.

Fellaini will be the biggest miss for us because when he's played deep he can harass the opposition like no other and he'd have been fantastic for a match like this.

I understand the criticism of the 3-5-2 formation but for me it's the best option if we want to keep our players doing the roles they're best at. Without Pienaar (and assuming neither Oviedo or Naismith start) we're forced into either pushing Osman or Anichebe wide right, a role which neither is suited to.

It's not so much Anichebe down the right that worries me, more Jelavic leading our attack. We need a real presence up there on Sunday and for the last 6 months Jelavic just hasn't offered that at all.

I suppose this is me coming round to the fact 3-5-2 probably is our best bet.

We have to give this a real go, for any hope of 5th/4th taking a decent amount of points from Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and the RS. IMO we have to win 2 of those games (winning our other games goes without saying).

Not to sure on the wing back system, suppose we'll have to see it more to properly judge it. I'd like to see Oviedo in the squad but I doubt that it will happen, I just hope we don't start Neville. But before the negativity sets in, they've got some big players missing so we have to jump at this opportunity to well and truly put us back in race for Europe.

Up the Toffees.

Is it wrong that I secretly prayed for Bale to get injured tonight? Hopefully Spurs will be suffering a major European hangover and we can show them up to be the one man band they really are (providing he doesn't make some sort of miracle recovery) COYB!!!

Wrong? Your prayers could be the difference between 7th and 4th. Pray more often. Pray for Suarez, Cazorla and Mata to all get horrific unrecoverable injuries.

I have foolishly allowed my confidence to grow. I feel like we can take victory and I don't know why - we need to remind ourselves Spurs have been pretty excellent all season and, crucially, will be a solid outfit with or without Bale. Not necessarily good, but solid. They will be difficult to beat, difficult to break down.

[Poor language removed] it. I'll be positive:
Spurs 1-2 Everton
Dembele (44)

Anichebe (72)
Jelavic (86)
