Reckon Don Carlo is picking his teams carefully each match to show the board exactly how much money they have spent and wasted and how much they will have to spend to get anywhere near good enough for a top 4 spot

Poor selection today. Carlo got it wrong this time, we were poor first half. Still unlucky to concede that goal though. A draw would've been the fair result.
But not the second!!!
As for Carlo getting it wrong, I think he's still believing that he has some great players.

It’s scary when I keep agreeing with Gary Neville , called Sigursson very early on and a few others, mind you not hard tonight to spot the shirkers . Perhaps even scarier though is when our best player is a kid who has usually played on the left of a four or left of a 2 , comes on and makes a difference on the right and steps up a gear when switched to a central mid role .

Neville has only recently retired and has played for a club with an elite culture, and really got by in that because he was always very professional. It's clear he picks these things up almost instantly. Love him or loathe him but he's a top pundit, whereas all you get from most pundits is gushing about his ability on the ball.

The obvious difficulty is, given the wages and the fee we paid, we are stuck with him.

Nah I'm not having that, it happens weekly to the good players in lesser teams in this league. Grealish and Zaha are two other examples where they just got fouled repeatedly because it goes relatively unpunished and is the only threat neutralized. The ref needs to realize it by the second or third and start handing out the cards automatically.

It is also time to think about a sin bin. Cynical play is winning play in football now and it is a joke. Diving, fouling and playacting are as integral as passing and shooting.

A Sin Bin will change nothing, they will just find new ways to manipulate it to their advantage.

Spurs were deffo targeting Richarlison tonight in a pack mentality for want of a better term. "Your turn to kick him now" etc. It's hard though because you don't want to be booking someone for their first foul either. It's the whole give an inch take a mile thing.

Loads of people always go on about other players not being good enough for us. Out of that team tonight I struggle to see many that consistently get in a Premier League team. Not a top 6 team. Just any of the 20 best in the country. Our squad top to bottom is dreadful aside from literally 5 or 6 in the 25 man squad.

Digne and Richy are the only ones for me that get in a good side in the league, Gomes does if he’s can recover fully after his injury. Dom was great before the break but seems to have gone off the boil. I legitimately struggle to see anyone else who’s good enough, they could all be replaced. It’s not reactionary it’s just a fact we need major signings this summer if we have any hope of capitalising on having a manager like Carlo, while we still have him. I’m sure he was guaranteed backing, he wouldn’t have come to us otherwise but who really knows what COVID has done to not just our finances but everyone else’s.

You could sell 75% of this squad and not one Everton fan would have a problem with it. That’s a scary lack of quality.
