Very, very little hope here and a second consecutive defeat, albeit against two good teams, but especially if it's anything like the capitulation last season, would totally sour the recent good feeling about the team. Would be 10 points from 30, a point per game and relegation form if continued over the season.

Now I don't expect us to go down like I did last season, but it's just grim year on year following this team and no fun at all. The squad we have now is hardly going to improve next season: Coady, Tarkowski, Gueye will all be past their peak soon enough, and we still haven't got a reliable striker in the entire squad.

And please don't tell me we've got the super exciting development of starboy Gordon to look forward to because he's crap.

Sad really that our highlight this season is not us, but us watching Liverpool severely underperform.

12th-15th place finish and no doubt we'll watch Liverpool spawn the Europa League or something.
It will be tough, i see spurs as the team that will finish second behind City without actually being in the title race as City are streets ahead of everyone.

We need Gray to be on his game today as he will be the only player that can get us up the pitch with his pace.
I don't see us creating much from open play so set pieces will be key, therefore i would play McNeil especially if he is going to start with DCL.

I don't see Coleman keeping Son quiet who has come back to form.
We have to score first to get anything out of the game IMO

We go again. The wheels came off a bit Saturday in a poor first half which started brightly with a brilliant Iwobi goal but sloppiness on the ball cost us anything. Wr huffed and puffed late on but couldn't force an equaliser .
Saturday sees us head to London to take on an in form Spurs in their stunning stadium. We also go up against our former talisman in Richarlison which will prove difficult on the field and also for us fans.
I don't think we will see many changes due to injuries but at least Dominic Calvert-Lewin is now an option and James garner showed us enough to show he can make an impact. Mcneill will probably start ahead of the suspended Gordon.
It's not somewhere we tend to get much and any mistakes here will be punished. But we can give them a game if we apply ourselves correctly

In an age of superficial hysteria prone same speak it sure is swell to see forthright cut through the chaff commentary as this. It makes me compelled to purchase art and novelties from your jigsaw emporium.

@MaupsGoat is a cellulite zeppelin and chats acute wham about a game he can never conceive as his mind is crazed by cravings of cakes.

Welcome to the site, post often ?

I enjoyed that long unbeaten run, but the loss last week has taken that feeling right away. I know Utd had won 4 in a row before City thumped them, but I expected a lot more from us.

I don't expect anything from this game.
Two mistakes, two clinical finishers. Their best player on the day lost the ball for our goal. It's not like we were overwhelmed.

Excellent first post.
Here’s some tackle for your fishing trips up to the north east.

Stating the obvious time - we’ll need to play a lot better than we did against United. Our midfield was so poor that day. They’ll only have 2 in the middle so our 3 should give them a game. What’s more, I hope we sit deep and look to break as we know what happens against Spurs if you play a high line.

Not expecting Everton to do much today at Spurs as we are still a team trying to shake off last season and come up with a better way of playing.
This season is still one of consolidation for me. I am expecting a similar number of losses to wins this season and will look at that as progress. I am sitting back and waiting for a season or so fully expecting improvement but not expecting a charge on the top 6 as of yet. This club needs a slow build to get back to where we belong. Hold tight lads as it is going to be an up and down ride but keep faith.
