Does Townsend still play for us? What’s going on here

I called for us to pay off his contract after seeing him through his recovery from injury because he was already pretty much finished before he got injured, but quite a few on here think that he's going to come back as the reincarnation of Ronaldinho or something, which is mad. In any case he'll probably end up coming back around January and get up to 'speed' by Easter. Maybe he'll even score a goal this season.

He still hasn't fully covered from his ACL; if I remember correctly, they hope'd he be back for just after the WC. It could have been earlier, but not worth rushing him.

He turns up for the home games and sits next to dugout which I like so shows his commitment.

Townsend might be average but club would be higher up the league if everyone in squad had his attitude.

Anyway stopping Spurs scoring early is what I wanted so can't complain at all at 0-0.

Pickford really going to take biscuit with goal kicks in second half so hopefully ref dosen't book him early.

Spurs will clearly have better chances and neither Son nor Kane miss more than one or two chances before they score.

That little rat Romero is being given a free ride off the referee, and Davies should have been booked for multiple fouls after about 25 minutes.

No doubt they'll end up being booked, but they'll be two up and the game will be over.

It's more about McNeil personally who has been mostly useless

Think he has done ok done a defensive role but would like to see him use the ball better

Do you know of a goalkeeper who has been sent off for time-wasting? It always makes me chuckle, as once they've got the yellow it doesn't really stop it.

Yes, there is the risk of a red from another offence, but if I was Pickford I'd keep on doing it. A little less extreme for the first ten to fifteen, but then go for it.

In terms of Townsend, I really liked what I saw of him last season.
