Tottenham v Everton

Tottenham have a very very dodgy keeper, we have a very good keeper. If we can get some shots away he's bound to fluff one into his own net, his confidence is that bad at the moment. But, we're not going to get any decent shots at him and Moyes is going to stick to the same underperforming favourites that everyone has been clammering for him to drop so on that evidence.

We'll get hammered.

4-1 Modric, Bent, Pavluchenko(sp), Campbell. We'll get a Gomes own goal after a weak shot from Saha gets bundled into his own net...

I'm over for this one, not looking forward to it if im honest, our recent run of wins at the Lane will come to an end, optimisictally a hard fought draw, realistically a trouncing.

I was thinking of going to this with a couple of Spurs season ticket holders from work. This thought was before the Wigan game so, as you can imagine, I have since cleared such thoughts from my mind

Team:

--------------Howard-----------------

Neville-----Yobo-----Jagielka-----Baines

-----------Castillo-----Arteta----------

Anichebe---------Cahill-----------Pienaar

-----------------Yakubu----------------

Play this team please, it's the way forward.

Predicition:
1-0 Anichove...

A confidence draining 2-0 defeat.

The big hammering will come at Goodison when Villa turn and smash us all over the place to go 4th by a clear 3 points.

A nice little team there. Don't really know what else to say, but you know, a nice little team.

my first match of the season (seemed like a good idea when i asked for a ticket!), so i'd like to see the following team tonk 'arry's new team 3 or 4 nil : -

..............howard

.......yobo jagielka lescott

neville.........................baines

..............castillo

.......osman.......pienaar

..........saha yakubu

but i'll be travelling more in hope than expectation.

id l ove to say different but cant see us gettin anything out of this game i see the players even more afraid to continually pass the ball to fellow teamers...hump hump hump .......3 -1 loss

2-1 to us, we go 1-0 down & Spurs look like they're cruising, we're playing [Poor language removed] again. Another [Poor language removed] up from their keeper gives us a goal out of nothing before Anichebe goes through in the 87th minute to win it for us.

Cue mass celebrations in the away end & some cockney [Poor language removed] leaving early & slashing the tyres of my EFC-plated car, continuing the trend of every London game this season having something go majorly wrong

With Neville being in such good form perhaps he could do a job in midfield to settle the ship down.

Howard

Jagielka Yobo Lescott Baines

Neville

Anichebe Fellaini
Arteta Pienaar

Yakubu

Moyes pushed Jags to right back in the game against Wigan towards the end. It's where he won a England B team cap and he played quite well there he has got the pace to get up and down the field and he is better then Hibbo defensively so maybe it would be a good idea to stick him in there. Jagielka is annoying because his tackles and blocks would make him perfect for that Defensive Midfield role but, he just cannot play there despite having all the attributes to make a good Defensive Midfielder. Even running back from corners he tries to snuff out attacks as he's running back from a corner unlike Yobo who just gets his head down and sprints back into the back 4. The attributes are there he just loses confidence in his ability in midfield.

Dropping Lescott entirely I don't think would be wise. I know he's been asking for it but, perhaps a move back into his natural position will inspire him to up his game and keep Jagielka or Yobo out of his position. He knows now that he isn't going to get a game there if he plays [Poor language removed] and he wants to play in that position. So hopefully it'll have a positive effect on him in the sense he takes his chance at CB and doesn't give Yobo or Jagielka a sniff with a string of inspiring performances at CB that we know he can deliver.

Arteta should be moved back into the middle for much the same reason as Lescott, he's not happy you can tell watching him that something is wrong I thought that maybe he could be playing for a move away. But maybe he was promised when a winger was signed he could play in the middle which is the position he wants to play so why not give him a try there. At the moment he's not even trying to beat a man or pass the ball forward. Putting him in the middle would give him more options of passing the ball and hopefully will get him more involved he needs a kick up the arse and we need to play better possession football nobody in our squad keeps the ball better then Arteta so hopefully we can start building attacks in midfield using Arteta as a creative lynchpin in midfield.

Also, we need to pack the midfield again, go back to 4-5-1 and drop Cahill we need bodies in the middle of the park looking for a pass who are comfortable on the ball and are not afraid of having the ball at their feet. Arteta and Fellaini could be a recreation of Defour and Fellaini that worked so well for Standard against them. I'd also play Saha as he seems more willing to work then Yakubu up front while our confidence is shot we need a grafter upfront Saha looked up for the match against wigan shrugging off tackles, chases long balls and winning flick ons for the Yak to chase. Until our midfield start passing the ball to eachother and going forwards there is little point in playing the Yak as he isn't going to be fed.

In short, something needs to be done about the way we're playing players look unhappy, we can't string more then 4 passes together without giving the ball away and we are offering zero service for the Yak to feed off. Back to basics scrap the 4-4-2 and get them playing pass and move football they're talented players there is no excuse for them not to be able to test Gomes against Spurs on Sunday. Let's hope we see the Everton of last year Pre-Fiorentina turn up to White Hart Lane.

Not a good idea to park an EFC plated car near a London ground - remember, we win a lot in London now (y)

I'm getting my own personalized plate soon but it won't be EFC - I live in south London and I like my car too much!

i want a win but at this moment i couldnt care less about the result.

i will be happy aslong as our lads make spurs fight tooth and nail for any goals or points THEY GET.

i want to see heart and desire to win for everton fc.
i want to see our lads play as if there whole life depends on it.
i dont want to see sloppy passing and hoof balls like we did the other night.

COME ON YOU BLUES !!
