Tour de France 07

It's a total embarrasment. Not just to the Tour but to all us fans as well. Just when we thought cycling had cleaned up there comes yet another doping case. What a bunch of tits Vino and his cronies really are. Did they really expect to get away with it?!

it isnt the fans, it isnt the sport - its the honest grafting professionals that have raced along side him with no chance of actually competing.

david millar shouldnt be there either.

cheats are filth - cheats are kopites.

Yup, spot on Suits. Without the cheating Astana scum, Cadel Evans would have won the TT on Saturday, with our very own Bradley Wiggins second. Shame

It wouldn't surprise me if Rasmussen isn't out before the end either and of course Contador was caught up in the Puertes thing as well. May as well call the whole thing off.

In London for the depart with the huge crowds I felt a real buzz about cycling after the Landis affair of last year and was loving every minute of this tour. [Poor language removed] 'em. I've had enough of admiring these guys only for them to turn out to be [Poor language removed]. I doubt even Armstrong was clean considering he was beating the likes of Pantani, Ullrich, Virenque, Vinokourov, Basso..., all convicted dopers.

the price of success has become th choice of success.

somehow these individuals have been blinded to the fact that cheating a path to victory is no victory at all.

40 pieces of silver.

Well.. Armstrong had some tests report showing he was taking some illegal drugs, but his lawyers contested that and said it was tampered with and not treated correctly.. and they won in the first instance and now he has spent all his money he got to clear his name in court. I for one are almost 100% certain he wasn't clean.

Rasmussen.. well.. he has missed 4 instances when the testers came to where he said he were and he wasn't there. All his tests have shown no sign of drugs though.. so far.

The guys I feel the most for... are those poor blokes in their teams fighting each stage to keep the "leaders" with the others, biking until their heart almost bursts before loosing 10 mins the last mountain... only to find out the person they've fought for has used drugs and all their work is for nothing.

But then again.. which sport is clean? I just wish they could ban cheaters, in any sport, for life! And if you get caught once in a test you loose any medals you've earned (even if you took them 10-20 years ago), your eventual records will be deleted, you have to pay back all the money you got from sponsors and so forth and you're forbidden to work with any sport in the future.

I hear you wiz, you mention some righteous stuff. sadly the european ruling on 'restriction of trade' means such adequate penalties are unavailable.

the gerries and the chinese used to inject their women with drugs that made the competition irrelevant - paula radcliff showed her disdain at an event protesting against EPO cheats actually on the track.

why dont we all say '[Poor language removed] it' and let each country fight a drugs race that makes individuals representing each country capable of super human feats'

me - id pay to see a 4 second 100 meter sprint, or a 20 meter high jump. imagine the spectacle. [Poor language removed] drugged out of their mind performing feats of athleticism that and un-natruals and dangerous.

wheres ben 9.79 johnson when you need him.

(NOTE: when the margins between winner and first loser are so fine, and the money involved is so huge, i can understand (NOT CONDONE) certain choices - if i had the chance i would rid my entire family of debts and mortgages, the individuals that are the problem are those that 'make' and then those that 'convince' regular athelets that drugs is the pathway to fame and fortune.

suitsblue says: executions are a quick way to spell out that drugs will not be tolorated.

what are you injecting your arse cheek for?

i heard the greatest stroy ever recently

some kid rang up 'no-bull' magazine and explained that his mate had been injecting steds into his arse - the geezar on the other end asked if the injectee 's arse had got any bigger - the douche ringing said no, so the guy on the helpdesk said 'if his arse isnt getting any bigger, why does he expect his arms to get bigger?"

The leader failed a drugs test, when will these cyclists understand that taking drugs is bad?

I feel sorry for the tour de france, more headlines about drugs tests, accusations and failed tests than anything else.

Oh, I know that what I want is unreasonable.. thereby the darn 2 year suspension. I'd love to see a lifeban though.. think that would be the only real punishment that would maek them listen. 2 years? Well it sounds much... but during that time you can take as many drugs as you like without getting tested (you can always point out that you're not competing and therefore not doing anything illegal. a month or so before your ban is lifted you stop taking your drugs and you return with your blood clean from drugs and with a body built by steroids that noone can do anything about.

What I can't understand though is how big this things turn out when it happens to bikers... but more track-and-field competitors get caught each year than bikers.. and I don't hear anyone clamouring for closing down Golden League or other such competitions. When I see a new face making a spectacular time or result in an event I first get really impressed and then I wonder how much steroids or such (s)he's taken.
