Greatest British sportsman ever for me. Boom.

Well done Wiggo, hugely deserved.

right up there no doubt, not that its important, but he has to be sports personality of the year, unless of course that glorified taxi driver hamilton finishes in the top five or murray takes a single set of any of the big 3 in an entire tournament

You'd certainly hope so. Especially if he takes the gold medal at the Olympics TT. I worry that any gold medal won on the track might be glorified more than it perhaps should be although I think cycling has become more 'main stream' now. Cav won the SPOTY last year so fingers crossed..

Wiggins is destroying this time trial. 50 odd seconds up on everyone at the 2nd checkpoint. Think he's trying to send a message here on who really deserves to be team leader.

He deserves to be team leader. But only on the basis that there's been two long TTs in this race. He's a worthy champion, no question, and I'm glad he won. But there's a question mark over who was the best all-round rider in that race. Brailsford is trying to keep both Froome and Wiggins onboard with this arrangement. He's going to have a real job finding a middle path through the politics of that.

As you've said before: the Vuelta will be interesting to see who's chosen as leader. This year has just one long TT of 40k and five stages in the high mountains.

Froome is the obvious choice for the Vuelta but I'd be amazed if he managed a schedule of Tour - Olympic RR - Olympic TT - Vuelta all within a few months. I'd say it's more likely that Uran/Henao/Lovquist are given the job, which is a shame as a fit Froome up against Contador and Schleck would be well worth watching.

Yes, he probably wont ride in Spain. It is a pretty punishing schedule. Only 17 days between the Olympic TT and the first Vuelta stage. Just the TdF followed by the Vuelta would be tough enough. Still, no one really knows how Contador will come back after a lay-off and Schleck will be rusty after the pretty bad injury. SKY might be tempted.

will GB have more than one entry in the TT, I know all track events are only allowed one entrant, if this is the case assuming Froome will do the road team, then be able to rest up.

No, each has 2 in the TT, both of whom have to be in the RR too. Our men against the clock are Wiggins and Froome, to which we're adding Cavendish, Millar and Stannard for the RR.
