Does nobody find it suspicious that Asafa Powell has won today's stage? Probably the least doped up athlete in the field as well.

Brucey, how many of this years field do you suspect are doped up to the eyeballs? Do many of them even know which country they're cycling round?

Probably fewer than will take to the pitch in the opening weekend of the Premier League.

I caught that Froome ascent up Ventoux last night. I'm sorry to say it but I just don't buy that. This feller two years ago was holding on in the Vuelta and getting pummelled on some of those lesser climbs and now he's destroying the best climbers in the world? No way has he made the leap legitimately. Brailsford looks like a shifty ****er and SKY will be caught out someday soon (and Team GB cycling squad too with the connection to Brailsford).

Yep I'm having severe doubts too.

What would be an acceptable way to win a race? How small a margin is small enough to be considered clean? Why are these doubts not being raised against other strong performers in other sports? Messi must be doping for instance, or Andy Murray, or Tiger Woods, let alone Usain Bolt or Mo Farah.

I mean I don't recall a single person suggesting Mo Farah doped, yet apparently the Kenyan training camps are rife with it, yet he beat them all. If you're gonna cast doubt on people based on nothing more than a heuristic, at least do it evenly.

Murray is Scottish, it goes without saying that he'll be on drugs of some sort.

Football is different as it's a technical skill rather than a purely physical. Same with Tiger Woods.

But by and large you're right - and wrong. The reason people analyse biking so much is that there are too many instances of massive increases in endurance and strength in a short space of time. Armstrong was blatant about it and the fact he got away with it for so long hurt the sport badly.

I like Froome as a guy, and I really hope he isn't doping, but to expect people not to question the climb on Mont Ventoux is insane.

Athletics gets exactly the same treatment as cycling does, but the difference is that when someone is caught doping it's usually a shock; whereas it's the norm with cycling.

The truth is that in any endurance discipline the legacy of the competitors will not be secured for at least a decade after the win, when you can then be reasonably confident that sampling techniques would have detected doping.
