Have to say I normally hate listening to Dutch commentary when it involves Everton. They just don't have an effin' clue about this club and what it stands for. All about the top 6 and a new found love for Newcastle.

The commentator on Sunday was a great exception to that rule. Of course we don't want to see Leeds go down and we certainly don't want to see Leicester getting relegated. Both massive clubs with a great history. But Everton going down is unthinkable. A massive club with such a proud history, evert present in the PL and founder member of the Football League. 69 years of top flight football in a row.

Loosely translated from Dutch this, but he really got it. Waa very excited and complimentary when Doucouré's ball went into the back of the net.

I wouldn’t worry about it, we aren’t in it to make friends.

As others have already said social media brings out the divvys. The lads I work with all think we are alright especially compared to Liverpool, or aren’t bothered either way.

The only one who has pipeda Newcastle fan who has only just piped up when the beat us this season. I’ve known him for years!

I don’t dislike any team really, apart from the neighbours obviously.

I do like Villa, West Ham and Palace though. All good clubs with good fans I think, (and I liked there kits when I was kid which probably influences it.).
I like West Ham and hope they win in Europe. Be nice to see moyes win a trophy.

I also like City as I have some good Manchester mates who support them and they really get on the RS nerves lol

This week has shown me that a lot of clubs, in particular outside the usual top six, don’t like us. The main reason being is that we haven’t been relegated in so long.
The amount of times other fans kept saying we need to go down and “taste relegation, like we have”.

Make no mistake. Nobody, including the media and pundits, wanted us to stay up. The next narrative will be for a big penalty for this supposed FFP breach. Expect the media to get right behind pushing this.
Apparently this morning Jim White, Moshiri's best pal, suggested that we should maybe get a 5 point deduction at the start of next season because of the pitch invasion. Safe to say that media absolutely despise us, yet Jim White is falling over himself all year to suck up to Howay D'Arabia with Newcastle and their blood money.

Clear as day to see why there's constant underplaying of Everton and an effort on behalf of media to overlook us or act as though we're just another West Ham or someone else, our club is probably too incompetent and has been for some time to pay for proper PR like all these other clubs are. I mean just look at Liverpool, Anfield is said to have the most unbelieveable, stupendous, unique atmosphere that the media constantly chirp on about. They sing in the first minute and in the last minute if they're winning, you'd hear a fart in the stadium from minute 2 to 89.

I agree that if you go by social media there is a big anti Everton fibe which quite surprises me as I always thought we were the good guys.
I think a lot of it comes from national media who would be delighted if we're to get relegated, they keep telling the world that we have wasted 700m and keep sacking managers when actually we are no worse than other teams in the division.
We are actually 11th in the league for nett spend over the last 10 years and as for sacking managers
We are no different to other clubs in that respect with many teams sacking twice as many as us.
I also think lovely cuddly Bill is part of this as he is loved by the media who don't understand why our supporters want him out.

It comes from us pretending to be johnny bigtime all the time for the last 10+ years and never having anything to show for it - now it's against us so everyone's enjoying it, especially teams we've headpatted along the way.

Quelle surprise

The experience I get in real life of opposition fans and those on social media are not one and the same. Usually, Everton get a fair wedge of respect where ever I go.

The moronic bubble that is social media shouldn't be taken at face value. On the other hand, the RS are hated on social media AND in real life.
We were out at a footy bar in Pittsburgh on Sunday and there were lots of Evertonians there, and lots of RS fans

Come the 80th minute and all of us in blue are puking our guts out, I mean having a real shocker trying to get through the last 15 minutes (ended up 20). I turn to my right there's this 70 or 80 something couple decked out in Liverpool gear, definitely from England (can't tell if scouse by accent, but definitely English) and the woman is like come on Everton. Pretty much all the RS fans were rooting for Everton to stay up, celebrating with us after. The old couple were like it's good for Liverpool (the city) if Everton stay up and Everton should never be in the championship, talking about the new stadium, etc.

Wonder if that's the feeling in the city right now?

After seeing a lot of fans of different clubs enjoying our misfortune of the last couple of years, I know that in future I won’t feel sorry for other clubs relegations or financial problems.

I has a look around a few forums last week, and most of them wanted us gone,
Millwall
Leeds
Bournemouth, although most of these wanted Leeds and us.
Few on Facebook
I am made up they don't like us ,
I don't want head patting from anyone .
I don't like them either ,but not really bothered who goes down most years , if we are not involved.
When you meet people on holiday they generally say red or blue and just say good, when you say a im a blue and talk to you.
I was away last month talking to a spurs ,arsenal, Chelsea gang of fellas all were fine chatting about the clubs.
Mostly asking what I thought of Millwall, and when we had been to each others grounds, had a laugh with each other till the end of the night
Online I bet they would be saying scouser I wish they were down.

Yeah I've noticed that recently, the special relationship with Moshiri, looks well and truly over.
