Ross is creative, just played poor. Mirallas will score and create.....you have Sanchez listed, who may aswell be a striker.

Agree with your point, but im not seeing 2 out and out playmakers per team....maybe a couple of teams.
Also, we finished above most of these without this 'Number 10' the other season.

That's true. But that first season we had a lot of movement in our play that wasn't there perviously and that out-foxed the division for a good while. The season just gone though was a very different beast. More and more teams set up defensively against Everton, we had no compensation from our play out wide and the results didn't go our way. The support became unconvinced by us keeping the ball and playing it and that eventually translated into vocal criticism.

We'll repeat season two if we dont purchase the type of player we dont have right now. A specialist who can concentrate on opening up the opposition. There's no one at Everton who can adapt to that apart from maybe an ageing and unreliable Pienaar. But even he isn't suited because doesn't possess the acceleration required for the role. Martinez knows it, I'm sure. And once players are shifted out of the club in the coming weeks the number 10 will be in through the door. This summer makes no sense whatsoever if that type of player isn't brought in.

Still completely bemused by people not thinking we need a clever, creative midfielder. Have a look at the clubs we should be competing with next season (essentially last season's top 8) - every single one of them has at least one first-XI playmaker type that we totally lack (this isn't about how good they are, just the type of player they are).

Chelsea - Fabregas, Hazard
Manchester City - Silva
Arsenal - Cazorla, Sanchez, Ozil
Manchester United - Di Maria, Mata
Tottenham Hotspur - Eriksen, Lamela
Liverpool - Coutinho, Firmino
Southampton - Tadic
Swansea City - Sigurdsson

All of those (bar Firmino, obviously) are in the top 20 for chances created in the prem. Baines is right up there too, but our best midfielder in that regard is Ross who is way down in 67th. The most assists any of our midfielders had was, er, 2.

This is a signing that Martinez wants more than any other and could be the missing element in the team. Absolutely no clue who it could possibly be but surely it's the most important business we could do this summer eh.

Well said. Most important signing of the next few years/of Bobby's tenure. He'd be mental to line up with Barkley/Cleverley in that position, they got about 3 assists between them last year.

Neat and tidy but massively overrated
He's more than that. When he gets a run of games he looks England's best player and every bit as good as any of the other Arsenal midfielders. The only problem he had was he excelled against Barca when he was a kid and everyone thought he would be world class plus a load of injuries.

So are you still 100% confident?

For 12m do you not think he would do a job as our ACM (No10) especially when teams parked the bus?

12 million is a reasonable price for the lad, but I don't have him in my recollection as a game changer really. He played well against the weaker sides, also in his penultimate season at Bayern he tore his hammy three times. An amazing free kick taker though and his corners have also been quality, it's Bayern's lack of good headers that hindered him from getting more assists.
