He wants to be the main man. Which he will be there. I'm not sure that's an attitude problem.

It's not over yet and we do have a better squad.

Pure apocalypse. Server meltdown. RIP

Virg, Hakim Z, Austin. (Needed or similar.)

Lennon bonus.

If we don't get two out of four time for revolt.

I disagree.

I think Evans/lennon would/will be great signings for us, if there's more to come (every suggestion that there is but can't help but flap about this bit in the face of Bristol City's millions).

But the self-deprecating twitter fume from the 'sado-masochistic'-type negativity faction of our fanbase is very infectious... and perhaps starting to look more justified as the season has actually started. I expect the fume-pinnacle to be reached with progressively more savage photoshops of Kenwright before we see some flashy signings...

So the fat toblerone gobling Hobbit went to Mordor, I don't know how I would feel about it if I were cursed to be born a Stoke fan, knowing that he did not really want to come to the team for weeks!

We're pathetic.

You just can't justify signing 2 players after that season.

People saying 'calm down, we''ll sign players'. It means nothing.

They should have been in 5-6 weeks ago, playing pre-season matches ready to click when the season kicked off. Now any newcomers will have to find their feet during the season.

Overall this back-loading approach to the window has cost us points already and will cost us points in the next month or so - and that's assuming we get three decent players in.

As things stand right now it's a minor disaster shaping up to be a major disaster.

You don't know that.

Stop being a..

Says who?

"You don't know that you can never be certain it isn't true unless I have it in writing from the club lalalalalallala"

Martinez said from the start that it would go down to the wire us signing our remaining targets.

Why is anyone now surprised that it will likely go down to the wire us signing our remaining targets?

FFS.

*logs off

Because someone else bought all the sweets in the sweetshop already!

Cant get my head round this fume. Inter had one, yes, ONE, firm offer, worldwide, for a player they signed 6 months ago, from Bayern Munich.

And that offer was binned off when it was made. He had zero choice if he wants to play football other than Stoke. I expect his wife is overjoyed.

We wernt that keen, hence the loan/staged or whatever we offered, but it was certainly not the asking price in pound notes. Nor Euro ones come to that.
Not sure that Shaqiri himself is the specific cause for fume. Just the item that made things boil over. I liked him, sure, but it is not losing him that has me concerned..... it's the combo of:

1) Manager had stated he had specific targets in mind
2) Manager stated he thinks business should be done before season starts (last night)
3) Team has not addressed 2 biggest concerns

So i'm worried that he lost his two primary targets at those positions (CB/AM). Maybe they were the boys that went to West Ham, maybe they just didn't want to leave or their club wouldn't sell (maybe we were to cheap). Whatever, he appeared willing to either abandon his plan for Shaqiri (meaning his target is worse) OR his target was gone and that was the next best option. Either way - not altogether promising for our options going forward.......

The dreamer in me says it is all because he was going to splash an unexpected 10-12 on Davis and saw a loan chance. If so, we may all be pleasantly surprised in the next couple of weeks.

The realist in me is afraid we will get Evans and Lennon and be done.

I like Lennon and Evans, but we need more and better.

It wasn't a minor/major disaster when we signed McCarthy, Rom, and Barry on TDD, was it?

The state of our fans atm.
