Transfer Window Thread

The transfer window isn't to cover injuries...very shortsighted.

Oh aye, it's not most of the time - I know it's not mate. I wasn't saying that, as a matter of fact.

It's to strengthen/build the team etc. But when you only have 2 senior centre-backs and there is 10% of the season to play for between now and the end of the window the 2 issues merge and to not strengthen for the sake of saving - if that's what we're doing - could equate to being under-prepared and throwing away points.

I'm not suggesting that we panic buy, I just think we're seeing the downside of the way we tend to operate in the transfer window.

And whilst most of us would agree we have been very unlucky in the number of injuries incurred to key players/areas (though some of players are more familiar with the treatment table that the Goodison turf)...

...it has to be said that we could do with whatever signings we're planning on making 'eventually' - right now. Probably an argument to file in the 'when should the transfer window start/finish' debate; but we are currently looking pretty weakened going into a tough run of fixtures.

actually I think a defender is priority .... 1 bad injury = season over , at the minute
granted our forward department isn't great , and we have been crying out for a playmaker for ages.
