Shevchenko wasn't a flop mate lol, was absolutely amazing in Italy which is definitely outside of Ukraine, by the time he went England he was badly faded hence Milan letting him go so easily

Rebrov was never as good as he looked when playing with Shevchenko so was a bad buy and could list a whole list of players who flopped at spurs/West Ham from every country

Arshavin wasn't by any means a flop - just wasn't as good as we thought he would be after he bummed us in Europe, but for the money paid he didn't exactly do bad for Arsenal. Smertin was bought by the owner not the manager and never really got a look in

I think you're making excuses for them all tbh.

Milan took him back and didn't want him to leave...

Rebrov was a very tidy player and looked good in Europe. Just struggled here, badly.

Arshavin was a hefty fee and big wages and done nothing to justify them..

Smertin did get a look in and struggled.

You'd be hard pressed to name 10players from that part of the world who've had a decent impact on a big league in Europe

Got the attributes hasn't he mate.
The height, physicality and pace plus that real class to change a game.

Yeah. I said to my mate he looked a different class when he played against us at Goodison. It's just the way he moves. All top talents have a certain swagger to their movement (like Barkley).

All very true in fariness. However, I'm going to stupidly keep optimistic about this whole thing.

No reason you shouldn't be - we sign footballers; Yarmolenko is a footballer and one we've been linked to since July.

Same reason you can be optimistic about... pffft I dunno... Austin or whatever.

All I'm saying is you wouldn't pay serious attention to someone shouting at you on the street "WE'RE GOING TO SIGN YARMOLENKO LAD!" - Twitter is the same thing in digital form, and should be ignored entirely.

These Twitter clowns cause a lot of bad feeling against the club though. They whip a lot of fans into thinking we are in for a player from their "sources" and when it fails say "we only offered a loan" or other crap when we probably weren't in for them. Cue mass hysteria.

I don't know the Everton Forum Twitter but have they ever got one right?

Nothing wrong with Twitter mate, it's just like a newsstand sells both the Mirror and the Guardian. If you learned how to ignore the crap sources at the newsstand but don't know how to ignore the crap on Twitter, the problem is not with Twitter.
I don't and won't subscribe to Twitter and I know loads who have and dumped it cos it's too full of tosh... and all these jarg accounts purporting to be agents, club sites and in-the-knows who know jack all kinda prove the point don't they. A half decent idea that's so badly abused as to render it close to being of little or no worth in my opinion.
