He might be considering the possibility of selling us Yarmolenko in January. That way he gets him for the group stage and can say he sold him to a top club plus gets some money.

Our bid wasn't too late. 10 days is more than enough time for any club to replace a player.

Their chairman is just saying that to make it look like he wasn't trying to hold the player against his wishes. He loves Kiev and wants them to do well in the Champions League this year, he doesn't care about the money and as Yarmelenko wasn't kicking up a fuss he decided to keep him.

People shouldn't use it against the board, he wouldn't have sold him to us if we'd come in a month ago.
