Kiev leave door open for Yarmolenko to move to Everton
By NSNO.co.uk on August 31, 2015
Dynamo Kiev president Igor Surkis has said that Andriy Yarmolenko is free to join Everton in January if his side do not find success in the Champions League.

Surkis said that he was happy with Everton’s offer and that Yarmolenko was prepared to leave, but that the final offer came too late in the transfer window for Kiev to sell.

“Everton began real negotiations with me only five days ago,” he said. “How can I sell Yarmolenko and put my team in a difficult position?

“Should I sell Yarmolenko and see my team humiliated in the Champions League? I don’t want that.

“With Yarmolenko we have a great chance of having a great Champions League season.

“If Everton came to me early in the transfer window, I would have sold Yarmolenko. The price is right, all the details are right.

“I was satisfied with Everton’s offer. I would’ve sold him if Everton came earlier in the transfer window.

“If we are out of the Champions League in the winter Yarmolenko will be on offer. I will let him leave the team but I will try to restrain him. And wants it to continue to contract or not – it’s his right.

“Yes, he would go to Everton. He will still be able to make a decision – to leave.

“With or without money. I will not put pressure on it. I think Andriy has no ego, we have a normal dialogue with him.”
Could we buy him and loan him back? It would at least make me feel better to know that we did something

Totally understand if that is his position. We've all been thrilled with the idea of losing Stones so late in the window so no complaints - apart from not trying to get in during our annual poverty period of the window.

Serious question, if we were to bring in a starting quality playmaker like Yarmalenko, who would they play ahead of when everyone is fit?

Would we drop Cleverly and push Barkley out wide? The popular answer would probably be to drop Barry but we know that won't happen.

I know Barkley isn't a #10, but he is a playmaker and I'm not positive that its necessary to sign another one with the intention of bringing them into the first XI immediately.

That or I've fully succumbed to stockholm syndrome under captivity of this board.

I can totally see what you're saying, as it would involve dropping one of Martinez' favourites or one of our 'better' players.

But, we came 11th last year and we've won 1 in 4 league games this season, is it really that difficult to improve our team? And our starting XI is sooooooo stale. We could virtually pick our first choice XI(bar Cleverley) at the end of the August window two seasons ago.

Forget Yarmolenko , in January he will have just 6 months left on his contract so we won't pay what we were willing to now and their chairman will still expect us to do so.

Picture update is back after the weekend, think faces are starting to melt:

Just my opinion but I reckon this window is/was about managing expectations for the board.

Tomorrow I think we'll add Funes Mori and maybe Lennon. I think Mori has probably been officially tied up since Friday but if we announce it tomorrow it will be seen as a "deadline day capture" and therefore appear more exciting. Lennon will probably be met with groans but will actually be useful to the side (especially in the absence of Cleverley).

With Clev, Del, Mori, and Lennon in. Added to keeping McCarthy Mirallas Stones and Garbutt, it's not been a bad window all in all. Not spectacular by any means, but not bad. Especially if one of the youngsters signed (Rodriguez, hennan, holgate) turns out to be decent.

I just hope the board are keeping excess funds to either-
1) bring down the debt, or
2) invest in a new stadium

The main problem is the lack of communication. If Bill came out and said "we're keeping £X to invest in the stadium" or "we've used £X to bring the debt down to £X so next season we can spend without borrowing" I think a lot of people would be disappointed, but we would understand. However, the lack of this communication is what is driving people mad. We only ever get a little 30 second quote from Bill when we've won 4 in a row, or just beaten one of the big boys

The price you pay for waiting for that 20 mill pounds loan against next season's Sky money.

Broke, dithering TrueBlue Holdings FC.

No chance of coming here in January...
